Mr. Nice Guy – Suriel Hess
I don’t think anyone expected Jaxon to be who he was, and that’s why this song felt so perfect. In the previous books, we see an arrogant playboy who isn’t interested in settling down and has such a blasé exterior, but it really takes no time at all to realize that our man is hiding a lot of big emotions, fears, and insecurities beneath his mask. Jaxon is, I think, the most beautifully layered character I’ve ever written. There is so much more to him than what he gives the world, and he is truly terrified to let people see and know the real him. This song made my chest hurt the first time I heard it. Not only did it feel like it was made just for Jaxon, but as someone who masks a lot, it hit me hard.
Feel Like This – Ingrid Andress
This song feels exactly like Lennon’s internal monologue as she slowly heals from her past relationship and falls in love with Jaxon. She met her ex-fiancé in high school and ignored the little red flags that slowly popped up and took over, turning her excitement over her first love into a toxic relationship she didn’t know how to leave. She tells Jaxon about finding a sense of security in this cardboard box of a relationship she had with her ex, and I think a lot of women can relate to being afraid to leave because when it’s the only relationship you’ve ever had, there’s an odd sense of safety in that person. I loved watching Lennon learn what real, genuine love felt like as she grows closer with Jaxon. He gave her everything her ex refused to, but it was the small, thoughtful things he did every day that made her realize that this is what love was supposed to feel like.
Hate to be Lame – Lizzy McAlpine, FINNEAS
“hate to be lame” is the friends-with-benefits-to-lovers trope in a song, and you can’t convince me otherwise. It’s also why it so perfectly fits Lennon and Jaxon’s story. There’s that period in FALL WITH ME that you get in every friends-with-benefits book where both main characters convince themselves that this is such a great idea, that they can definitely get off together and come out the other side without catching feelings or getting hurt (you sweet, sweet fools). And then there’s that oh shit point in the story where both of them realize, somewhere along the way, they fell in love (my fav part).
How Do You Dress for the Rain? – Sam MacPherson
Oof, this song. This one absolutely screamed Jaxon. The title says it all: this is a song about waiting for everything to fall apart, and it’s essentially Jaxon’s inner monologue. Inside our broody hockey player is a broken little boy who has lost the people he loved over and over, until he felt like he wasn’t a good enough reason for anyone to stay. This is one of those songs that gives me that painful lump in my throat, the kind that’s hard to swallow done, because it makes me just want to hug every single person who relates to and tell them that they’re enough. Sam MacPherson—you nailed it.
See The Light – Stephen Sanchez
This is another song that makes me want to just spreadeagle on my bed and feel everything while the rain beats down on my window. I love it so much because it’s such a beautiful depiction of letting someone in, letting them see all the things you’ve been so afraid to show people, and letting them love all of you. Jaxon keeps love at a distance—romantic love and love from his friends. He doesn’t believe he deserves it and is constantly waiting for everything good to be pulled out from under his feet. His character growth in FALL WITH ME is truly beautiful as he navigates his past and his mental health while slowly learning to not only love himself for exactly where he is in life, but letting other people love him too. There’s a quote in this song that resonates so much: “Hold me up until you see the darkness that I couldn’t find lying by your side. Hold me up until you see the light.” The right people will see all of you, the dark and the light, and they’ll love all of you. The right people will make those dark spots feel bright again. This isn’t just what Lennon did for Jaxon, but what the whole found family crew did for him, and him realizing how loved he was by his family was emotional in a way that should be illegal.
Playing For Keeps #4
From bestselling author and TikTok sensation Becka Mack comes the next book in her sizzling hockey romance series about a playboy defenseman and the team photographer who reforms him.
The fourth book in the globally popular Playing for Keeps series that New York Times bestselling author Hannah Grace calls “endlessly sexy and funny.”
It was supposed to be a one-night stand. But what if they can’t leave it in the past?
Jaxon Riley is exceptional at three things: starting fights on the ice, picking up women post-game, and going home to fulfill his role as the world’s best cat dad. Relationships, unfortunately, missed the list.
Lennon Hayes is supposed to be on her honeymoon. Instead, she’s alone and single, vacationing next door to a surly tattooed man who ran his date off the resort. When a run-in at the bar results in a night of bickering and cocktails, she finds herself tumbling into bed with the enemy next door, then sneaking out before the sun comes up.
Lennon’s plan to start over in a new city is going great, until she starts her new job. The job? The Vancouver Vipers’ new photographer. And the defenseman scowling at her from across the room? The one-night stand she wasn’t supposed to see again. Good thing neither of them are looking for anything serious… Right?
Jaxon may not be used to falling, but if he’s going to go, he refuses to go alone. If he falls, he wants Lennon to fall with him.

Steam, Swoon and Happily Ever After
Becka is a steamy romance author, self-proclaimed sarcasm queen, professional procrastinator, and a superfan of dragging her readers through hell and back on the way to a happy ending.
When she's not staring blankly at her computer screen or deleting close to two hundred occurrences of the word just from her manuscript, she can be found teaching kindergarten (gasp!) in Ontario, Canada, and mom-ing with her incredibly sweet and beautiful little boy (he takes after his mama) and her animals.
Though she's always been an avid reader and forever dreamt of becoming an author, Becka didn't begin writing books until after the loss of her brother. While she loves to include all the fun stuff like heat, humor, and alpha men who are secret teddy bears, her writing comes from a place of heavy emotions, and she often can't resist letting those emotions seep into her pages.
