Celebration of Autumn! Favorite Beer Bread Recipe

iBooksbookbubgoodreadstwitterfacebook

Autumn brings a variety of treasured traditions to our house. In addition to the Friday night lights of high school football, we break out the fall decorations and enjoy the quest of who will be the first to spot Brach's candy pumpkins. We make a trip to the local apple orchard and come away with apples, pumpkin butter, fresh apple pies to freeze for Thanksgiving and pumpkins. The fireplace gets readied for the season and we enjoy cool evenings spent around the firepit outside.

It's a wonderful time for comfort food! The crock pot gets used more often and I pull out the recipes of family favorites that I have collected over the years for bread, casseroles, and one pot meals.

Here is one of my most favorite bread recipes, also wonderful for gift giving at the holidays. It has a nutty flavor that lends itself well to soups, stews, and even as toast for breakfast!

Beer Bread

In a bowl combine, 3 cups of SELF-RISING flour, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1 can beer (room temp works best) Pour batter into a lightly greased loaf pan and bake at 400* for about 40 minutes or until slighty brown on top. This recipe works well as mini-loaves for gift giving. Great for a fall picnic, served with small slices of meats and cheeses.

Re: Celebration of Autumn! Favorite Beer Bread Recipe

Hi, I also love fall and apples, and stews and chili and homemade applesauce.

I make this beer bread all the time. Love it. It is so good warm with butter.

Have a great fall season and good luck with The Diary of cozette.

Thank you Mary! I just found out today that Coizette is #3 on eHarlequins top ten bestseller list! woohoo!

I love this bread especially with honey butter! Yum!

Enjoy the season! Do you have leaves changing color where you live?
