Theater Showings in
Nashville and Destin Help Promote Book and Events
As you settle into the movie theater with your tub of popcorn, you think you
are watching the trailer for an upcoming action flick. The music and the
narrator with the tension–filled English accent fill the big screen with
all the drama of a thriller.
But at the end you see the book cover for author Paul D. Parsons's new novel:
BADEN–POWELL'S BEADS:
LONDON, the second in his historic fiction thriller series. His book trailer
goes to the big screen.
Parsons is using this "novel" approach to get the word out about the book and
a couple of book events. The 45–second trailer will play for several weeks
at the Regal Green Hills Cinema starting May 24 to help promote his book
signing at Parnassus Bookstore on June 6 at 6:30 p.m.
At Destin, Florida the trailer will play at AMC Destin
Commons 14 (formerly The Rave Theater) starting May 31 to promote his
book event at the Sundog Bookstore at Seaside, which is June 15 at 6 p.m.
"We personalize the end of the trailer with the location, date and time of our
book event to play in those respective markets," Parsons said.
" I wanted to have a book trailer that conveyed the action and suspense that
I hope readers find in the book and then put it on the big screen to help reach
the audience," said Parsons, a Brentwood resident.
The trailer was produced by Sketch Creative in Franklin, TN. The production
company produced a book trailer for Parsons' first book in the series
(Baden–Powell's Beads) which played at
select theaters in Tennessee. "The trailers are well done and going to the movie
theaters is another way to market to the book audience," Parsons said, "and it
also helps promote the bookstores."
Baden–Powell's Beads: London is available
in bookstores and at www.amazon.com and is also available in Ebook.
