I live in New Zealand (waves at Nalini!) , but grew up in SC. My Father in Law passed away last month and
my husband and I will spend all of June and July with his mom in SC. Mostly we will be at Fripp Island
(beach) where we met, but will have family reunions with their family and also sneak in some reunion time
with my siblings, a 2 year old great-nephew, my sis from Spain and her son, and LOTS of spanish food
(paellas, gambas) and our sibling tradition of Patron Silver tequila shots with lime, and a toast of "Salut y
forza al canut", which translates as "health and strength to the cane" . The original meaning references the
old money carrying lengths of actual cane used in olden days, we take the "double entendre" to the max
and toast our mens virility :).... My mom told us sisters that we were putting too much pressure on our
brother in law one year when he was the only male around and we just kept on toasting :). I have my iPad
loaded with a few thousand books to keep me busy, but keep on buying and will need some pb's for
sandy reading.....
