Cathy Maxwell on THE
MARRIAGE RING:
"I am absolutely convinced the marriage ring means more toa man than it does a
woman. It's a symbol, a sign that he loves, that he claims this woman, she is
his.
"My first wedding ring was a gold band, but as my twentieth anniversary
approached, I wanted bling, especially since my anniversary coincided with my
first appearance on the New York Times bestseller list for MARRIED IN HASTE. Byt eh
way, my husband and I had married in
haste. I agreed to marry him a month after I met him. We were both in the Navy
and orders were involved. It turned out to be a great marriage and the ring I
chose to celebrate that twenty year milestone was a humdinger.
"For my new book THE
MARRIAGE RING, I returned to the jewelry store I visited to buy that ring
and to talke about how symbols of our love carry more meaning than we could have
every imagined when we first pick the out."

I haven't worn my wedding ring in years. Mostly because of problems with my hands, but my husband comments on it all the time. Although, I think his comments have more to do with the cost of the ring than a sign of possession. (Tanja Haack 9:09am March 11, 2010)
