Halloweem Memories

website
Halloween, like Christmas, brings back a lot of childhood memories. I remember the black cat costume my mom made me when I was seven, black bubble gum that stained tongue and teeth and made all the kids look like plague victims, and countless pumpkins. Maybe it’s all those happy memories that makes me write about witches, vampires, and demons. I want the Halloween fun to last forever! I have great memories of a lot of home-baked treats, too. Here’s one that was a particular favourite in my house:

Peanut butter bars

Cream: ΒΎ cup of butter or margarine, 1/3 cup of peanut butter, and 1 cup brown
sugar.

Blend in: 1 beaten egg, 1 teaspoon vanilla

Add: 1 ΒΎ cups flour, mix well.

Spread into a jelly roll pan (15 Β½ x 10 Β½ inches). Bake at 350 degrees for 15
to 20 minutes.

Melt 6 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate chips with Β½ cup of peanut butter.

Spread over baked dough and cool. Cut into squares.
