“I thought about you all weekend.”
“Me too,” she admitted.
“I want you bad, Jules,” he said softly, reaching for her hand, relieved when she let
him take it. “I just can’t promise you more than here and now.”
“I know.”
“I wish that could be enough.”
She shrugged. “It’s not.”
Something inside him bristled, adding a petulant edge to his voice. “Don’t you think
that’s a little bit unfair?”
