First sighting of Spring in a blizzard

I had spent all of March at my Mom's housing helping her out after shoulder replacement surgery. My brother came down to drive me home last Saturday. Living in CO you never know when a snow storm will hit. It's about 6 hour drive from Montrose to Rocky Ford where I live. The first half of the drive was really dicey, blowing snow, icy roads and two major mountain passes. The first one was the worst. We slid a few times, one causing us to end up on the other side of the highway, thankfully no traffic was coming. Just as we went aruond the final curve of the pass, we saw the beginning of spring. Two adult and two baby mountain goats standing right on our side of the road. What a beautiful sight. It is really rare to see them anymore as they are slowing going extinct. I hadn't seen any in years. Spring is definetly here, with flowers budding and new life beginning. Jen :)

Re: First sighting of Spring in a blizzard

Sounds like your weather is much as I remember. My brother moved to Co. from Mo. and it is a beautiful state. Never forgot the weather. Was in April and my brother had a wreck and became blind. You would think a great Spring day and it snowed a few days later! Couldn't believe it! My cousin that we stayed with said not to worry cause it would be gone the next day and glory and behold it was!

Thanks!
