1--What is the title of your latest release?
ANYWHERE YOU GO
2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?
A small-town waitress and a Broadway press agent swap homes to escape their personal problems, each finding love in the process.
3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
As this was loosely inspired by the movie The Holiday, I wanted to have two distinct settings for the house swap, but also choose locations that differed from the movie. I decided to use my two main characters’ jobs as the jumping off point. Since one of my best friends in real life is a Broadway press agent, I gave that career to Eleanor, which automatically meant she’d be living in New York City. Then I wanted something that contrasted that, so Tatum became a small-town waitress, pulling on = the three years of my own life that I spent working at a diner.
4--Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life?
I would definitely hang out with both Eleanor and Tatum.
5--What are three words that describe your protagonist?
For Tatum it’s creative, sensitive, and giving, and for Eleanor it’s driven, protective, and loyal
6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?
As I mentioned, my friend is a real-life Broadway press agent, so I got to learn a lot about how that job actually works and find fun ways to use it for my story!
7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
I used to edit as I drafted much more than I do now. But I don’t think I will ever be able to go through an entire draft without circling back to certain spots. Sometimes it helps me remember where I’ve left off with specific arcs and also shows me places I can further flesh out the details. It’s also nice when I am in the thick of a draft to remember there are parts of the book that are already polished, and that can be very motivating for me!
8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
Considering the fact that New York City plays such an integral role in this story, I will share that every time I am in NYC it’s essential that I get the banana pudding from Magnolia Bakery. We actually have Magnolia Bakery here in Los Angeles too, but it does not hit the same at all.
9--Describe your writing space/office!
I recently moved, so my office is also my dining room. It’s nice because my desk faces a window, and I put out a little window seat for my cats and they can watch the world as I write.
10--Who is an author you admire?
I absolutely love Alicia Thompson’s books. They are so complex and intimate and feel totally lived in and real. Reading her work reminds me of everything I love about romance in general. Her observations and awe for the world totally come through in everything she writes, and it all feels very alive.
11--Is there a book that changed your life?
Forever and always The Hunger Games. I actually have a matching Hunger Games tattoo with my best friend, Hollis. That’s how serious it is to me. Reading Sunrise On The Reaping recently was a genuine spiritual experience.
12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)/Or, for indie authors, when you decided to self-publish.
For this book, I was on an airplane when I got the initial offer. It came through while my phone was off, and I found out after the plane had landed and I’d turned my phone on again. I had a layover, and I spent that entire time taking calls and emails regarding the book. And here we are now!
13--What’s your favorite genre to read?
I read it all, but lately I am having fun reading thrillers and memoirs. It’s so different than my usual that it’s helping me explore stories in a totally different way.
14--What’s your favorite movie?
Depends on the season! I really like the movies I watch to match my mood or the weather, so I can’t choose only one!
15--What is your favorite season?
Living in Los Angeles, my favorite season is whenever it’s 73 degrees and sunny here, which can happen at any point in the year! As for places that have proper weather, I love the first turn of fall.
16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
This past year, my friends and I did a perfume-themed escape room, which is weirdly perfect considering ANYWHERE YOU GO, one of the love interests is a perfumer!
17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?
One of my dear friends told me to watch this show called From, which is a horror mystery show. It’s sort of like Lost meets Yellowjackets. I don’t typically like horror, but it totally worked for me, and I had the best time binging the show. I’d love to talk to more people who watch it, so hopefully they will read this and find me!
18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
Pizza
19--What do you do when you have free time?
In the past year, I’ve switched to writing full-time, so it’s sort of like I always have free time while also being like I never have free time, since I make my own schedule. But I love hanging out with my cats, Meadow and Forest, who are named for The Hunger Games and my hometown, respectively. I cherish every minute with them!
20--What can readers expect from you next?
In September of 2025, I’m releasing my first YA in six years, a cozy sapphic romance called Everything She Does Is Magic, about a teen witch and a mortal who team up to plan their Halloween-obsessed town’s fall festivities. In March of 2026, I have my next collaboration with authors Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka. We write under the pen name E.B. Asher, and we are releasing This Will Be Interesting, a cozy romantic fantasy standalone set in the same magical world as our debut. And finally, in summer of 2026 I am releasing my next adult romance, In What World, about two women who hated each other in high school who begrudgingly reunite to investigate the disappearance of their beloved former teacher, only to get stuck in a series of increasingly bizarre alternate realities together. I am so so excited for every single one of these books!

A small-town waitress and a big-city Broadway press agent swap homes to escape the messiness of their personal lives, only to find new purpose—and new love.
Tatum Ward and Eleanor Chapman lead totally opposite lives. Tatum’s never left her Midwestern hometown. She resides in a quaint guest cottage on her parents’ property while working part-time as a waitress, where she spends most shifts ignoring her feelings for a beautiful regular named June. Eleanor dedicates every waking hour to her high-profile press career, sacrificing personal relationships for professional success, save for the occasional hookup to fight off her loneliness. When both women’s lives unexpectedly blow up at the exact same time, they each need an escape, and fast.
In Tatum’s hometown, Eleanor expects a quiet hideaway where she can recharge. Instead she gets wrapped up in the family drama that Tatum left town to avoid, pulled in by Tatum’s charismatic older sibling, Carson, who charms Eleanor at every turn. Tatum ends up in Eleanor’s New York high-rise apartment with June. One week together in the big city might make it impossible for Tatum to avoid not just her true feelings for June, but her real dreams for her life.
Amid a friendship with a reclusive Hollywood actress and a complicated family reunion, Tatum and Eleanor each discover much more than they bargained for away from home. Their house swap won’t last forever, but it might be just long enough for both women to surrender their defenses and finally fight for the life—and love—they deserve.
