1--What is the title of your latest release?
Our latest release was the re-issue of FALLEN HEIR, book 4 in The Royals Series.
2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?
Tragedy. Treachery. Trust. Hartley has to face the facts—in this world, you can’t escape the Royals. Either you live by their rules, or you die by them.
3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
Since it was the fourth book in a series, it had to take place in the same setting as the rest of the books—a wealthy town along the Carolina coast. We both love the ocean, so that’s why we chose that particular setting for the Royals series!
4--Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life?
Absolutely!! We love the strength and determination of our heroines. Our heroes are also ALPHA males to the core, which is equally fun because you get to see them butting heads with our sassy girls. Hanging out with Ella (the heroine of Books 1-3) and Hartley (the heroine of Books 4-5) would be a blast.
5--What are three words that describe your protagonist?
Easton: Misunderstood, funny, protective.
Hartley: Determined, caring, confused.
6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?
Plotting a second romance in a series is really hard. We have so much respect for those who write multiple connected romances!
7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
We do small edits as we go, especially as we read over the sections that each of us write. The big edits we save until the end.
8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
Jen - Pizza!
Elle - Chocolate!
9--Describe your writing space/office!
Jen - I have an office at home where I write but I also have a laptop that I drag around the house to different rooms or to cafes. Sometimes a change of scenery is necessary to jump start my writing juices.
Elle - I usually write all over my house but tend to spend most of my time in the living room. In the summer, I like writing outside on my patio. I live in a rural-ish area, so it’s super quiet and I love being out there with my laptop.
10--Who is an author you admire?
Jen - Meljean Brooks. Her prose, characters, and imagination are everything. Please read her. She’s fantastic.
Elle - I’m in love with Kristin Hannah’s books. She packs so much emotion into her stories, and her characters always feel so relatable.
11--Is there a book that changed your life?
Jen - I don’t know of one book that changed my life but ever since I read the Power of Habit, I do make my bed every morning.
Elle - Probably one of the Sweet Valley High books I read as a pre-teen. They’re what made me want to write romance!
12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)/Or, for indie authors, when you decided to self-publish.
We self-published this series a while back and suddenly got an email from our agent that there was interest in New York from publishers. We were so excited to finally see our books in bookstores in the United States. Jen once saw the Italian versions in Capris. That was one of the most exciting book moments in her life.
13--What’s your favorite genre to read?
We both LOVE new adult romance, which is one of the things that initially brought us together as friends.
14--What’s your favorite movie?
Jen - to be honest, I haven’t watched many movies recently. I’m more into dramas these days. I watch a lot of Korean dramas and I recommend one below.
Elle - There are way too many to name!
15--What is your favorite season?
FOOTBALL Season! LOL
16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
Jen - spa day. I love getting a massage. It feels so decadent.
Elle - Lazy day doing nothing. I go completely offline and recharge.
17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?
Jen - I’m a big fan of kdramas and Glory was one of the best ones I’ve watched in years. It’s on Netflix and it’s a revenge drama.
Elle - I recently watched all of Australian Survivor and I’m totally obsessed. Also, Love Island. I’m on a reality show binge lately.
18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
Jen - Korean food. I eat kimchi every day and would cry if I couldn’t have Korean barbeque, kimchi jiggae, tteokbokki on a regular basis.
Elle - Italian! Pizza and pasta any day, every day.
19--What do you do when you have free time?
Jen - Read. Loved the Murderbot series by Martha Wells.
Elle - Read, write, hang out with my dogs, see friends, travel.
20--What can readers expect from you next?
