Re: The Jaguar Prince (8:02pm May 7, 2010):

I will have to give that a try the next time I'm bothered by noisy wildlife! lol!

Re: Big Bad Wolf (7:05pm April 10, 2010):

It drives me crazy too when they do that. However, what's worse is when they reprint a book with a changed title. You buy it thinking it's a new book or series only to find out it is something you already read with a different title. Grrr....

Re: A Certain Wolfish Charm (10:02pm March 31, 2010):

You can order me one of those HEAs too! ;) This one is definitely going on my wishlist!

Re: The Highlander's Sword (8:20pm March 17, 2010):

highlanders and the middle ages... looks good!

Re: The Mane Squeeze (7:59pm February 27, 2010):

Shelly Laurenston is one of my faves! Love both the Pride and Pack series. Paranormals are my "for fun" read.

Re: The Betrayal Of The Blood Lily (9:48pm February 20, 2010):

Interesting vampire book list. I need to peruse it more closely for some new books to add to my TBR! :)

Re: Chick with a Charm (8:11pm February 19, 2010):

I'm an animal person in general but lean more toward cats (I have three!) but if I was home more I would definitely have a dog too! :)

Re: Viking in Love (8:27pm February 4, 2010):

Actually Sandra, YOU are the new author I'm discovering, lol! I read the excerpt for your book in your recent newsletter and lol'd!! If that is what I've been missing I have got to try this series...soon! :)

Re: Hasta La Vista, Lola! (6:56pm January 29, 2010):

I need to read more in this genre, but my current favorite is Stephanie Plum series. I have also read and liked the Pauline Sokol series by Lori Avocato. Lola sounds like a fun character.

Re: The Keepers Of Sulbreth (8:35pm January 15, 2010):

Yes, yes, and yes...all three! I am absolutely a judge a book by the cover (and title) kinda person. Catchy titles and covers always catch my attention.

I do wish authors who use odd, hard to pronounce names would somehow work the pronunciation into the story or put a pronunciation guide at the back of the book. I get very frustrated by names that I don't know how to pronounce.

Re: Come Hell Or High Water (8:46pm January 6, 2010):

I'm racking my brain and can't think of one though I'm sure it has happened at some point in the past.

I do love the Broken Heart, OK series and look forward to the new release!

Re: Dangerous Highlander (7:43pm January 4, 2010):

I knew that authors rarely have control over the cover image but I had no idea the title was up for grabs too!

One thing that does drive me nuts is when a publisher re-titles a book already published under another title. It is very confusing and causes people to buy books they have already read.

Dangerous Highlander is already on my wishlist...it sounds good!

Re: Deadly Liaisons (2:04pm January 1, 2010):

Hmmm... seems to me like they both have bite! Can we just roll 'em up into one? :)

Re: Scorched (8:07pm December 1, 2009):

I have Ravenous but loaned it out before reading it so I can't wait to get it back. It looks really good!

Re: Dark Lover (10:41am November 29, 2009):

My favorite genre is paranormal romance and YA paranormal and it is what I read most of the time, but I do venture out to other genres. I am currently reading Gabaldon's "Echo in the Bone". Occasionally a contemp or historical romance or chick-lit will catch my eye (and I mean that literally since I tend to judge books by their cover). I also like to read humorous mysteries like Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich or the Spellman series by Lisa Lutz.

I have been reading so long I can't really remember the first adult book I've read, but The Hobbit seems to be the one I can recall at the moment (yes, fantasy lover from the beginning!)

I do not have a keeper shelf mainly because I do not re-read.

Re: Over My Dead Body (8:29pm November 16, 2009):

mmmmm....banana bread! yummm! Have a great Thanksgiving!

Re: Wild Blue Under (6:50pm November 9, 2009):

Thanks for telling us about your books - they look like a fun read!

Re: One Lucky Cowboy (7:37pm November 5, 2009):

I love character interviews! Thanks :)

Re: Final Approach (7:26pm October 30, 2009):

I have no willpower around candy! If I keep candy in my house I will eat it. Period. Soooo...I don't give out candy at Halloween anymore **cringe**

Re: Fool Moon (9:21am October 25, 2009):

I don't have a story for you but I do love my audiobooks. I can't wait until I have a car with a CD player! Until then it is cassettes for me in the car.

Re: The Hunt (10:23pm October 12, 2009):

Great lemonade story! So glad it worked out for you... and your readers benefit too!

Re: Shades of Twilight (9:14am September 27, 2009):

I have only been to one signing at a local RWA conference so it was very small, but the authors I met were very nice.

Re: What I Did For Love (2:04pm September 20, 2009):

Also, I like background music when I read. Usually something instrumental and I just put it on low volume. However, I can do that with TV too as long as it isn't loud enough to distract my attention.

Re: What I Did For Love (2:01pm September 20, 2009):

When I get a new book I have to stick my nose in it and take a big whiff and then I read the first sentence, which often leads to the first paragraph or two. A few times the beginning of the book really grabbed me and I ended up reading the whole book! :)

Also, I have to read before I go to bed even if it is really late and even if I can only keep my eyes open for a page or two.

Re: To Tempt The Wolf (7:04pm August 20, 2009):

Congrats on the new release. I hadn't known yet about Seduction of the Wolf... putting that on my radar! :)

Re: Earth Guys Are Easy (7:40pm July 15, 2009):

Congrats on the weight loss...sometimes those little changes have big effects! As far as the songs go, I'm not really a big music fanatic so I don't have any real favorites. I grew up with the 80's music so that usually gets my attention on the radio.

Re: Mr. Perfect (4:06pm July 12, 2009):

Good ole Harry Potter! Though I would have gotten around to reading it with or without the hype. I haven't read Twilight series yet but it is sitting on my TBR shelf and I expect I will like it since it is right up my reading alley. :)

Re: Believe (8:51pm June 2, 2009):

I have an attraction/aversion relationship with anthologies. I am always attracted to them, especially if it has authors I like, but then when I get them I tend to let them sit on the shelf. If it has a story that is part of series I like to read then I might just read that one story and leave the rest, or it takes me a long time to read the other stories.

I don't know what it is...maybe because the stories are so short they don't have enough time to build to a satisfying conclusion. Just as I start to get into the story, it ends.

Re: Mistress (3:58pm May 17, 2009):

I just thought of another issue with character names. When an author uses two very similar names for two characters in the same book, I get confused sometimes on who is who. I'd rather see totally different names unless similar names are integral to the storyline.

Re: Mistress (4:29pm May 16, 2009):

I also shorten difficult names to something easy for me to pronounce.

It drives me crazy when I come across names that I don't know how to pronounce. It happens a lot with Gaelic names. I wish the author would put a section in the back of the book showing how the names are pronounced or work it into the story in some way. Sometimes they put in glossaries but usually don't include pronunciation.

The other problem is with audiobooks when the name is pronounced one way in one book but the next book in the series the narrator uses a different pronounciation...argh!

Re: Kiss Of Darkness (9:53pm March 27, 2009):

These books look good! I hadn't heard of this series...another one to add to my evergrowing list :) Great interview!

Re: Would-Be Witch (7:36pm March 16, 2009):

Favorite fictional place would be Hogwarts - I know, not too original but it's the first thing I thought of and dang... it's, it's... it's Hogwarts!

For historical setting, I'd like to go back to medieval times to see what it was really like...um...after the plague of course :) But I'd just like to be a fly-on-the-wall observer cause let's face it, it wasn't an easy time to live in!...and probably a bit stinky too ;) Note to self: bring nose clips.

Re: Between A Rock And A Heart Place (6:49pm February 24, 2009):

Well, you didn't say I was limited to one so....I would transform into any animal I needed! :)

Re: Turn Coat (10:09am February 22, 2009):

Well, now I need to figure out this whole twitter thing!

Re: Ravenous (8:06pm February 19, 2009):

I've been wanting to try this book since I saw the cover. It looks really good! I've emailed a few authors in the past usually with a quick question about their book. I always appreciate when they take a minute to respond as I'm sure they get tons of email.
