It’s almost time for spring, right? Well, don’t put up those sweaters and galoshes anytime
soon, and keep those shorts stored for now. I think that groundhog fooled us all last month.
Instead, embrace the cold, or snow, or the rain and dig into a good mystery this month. I’ve
got a few I didn’t feature last month you don’t want to miss, and some great mysteries
releasing in March that will take up those last few (hopefully) chilly days Mother Nature has
decided we can’t do without. After all, Mother does know best. Father Time is just making the
season seem dramatically long ;)
Meet Lola Cruz. After paying her dues as an intern, she’s now a full-fledged detective at
Camacho and Associates. Her boss is Manny Camacho, a muy caliente former cop with a
mysterious ex-wife, a Lara Croft look-alike girlfriend, and a sudden personal interest in Lola.
Her first big case? A missing mother who may not want to be found. And to make her already
busy life even more complicated, Lola’s helping her cousin plan her quinceańera and battling
her family and their old-fashioned views on women and careers. She’s also reunited with the
gorgeous Jack Callaghan, her high school crush whom she shamelessly tailed years ago and
photographed doing the horizontal salsa with some other lucky girl.
Lola takes it all in stride, but when the subject of her search ends up dead, she realizes she
has a lot more to worry about. Soon she finds herself wrapped up in the possibly shady
practices of a tattoo parlor, local politics, and someone with serious—maybe deadly—road
rage. To top it all off, her treasured post-coital pictures of Jack are missing!
Still, Lola is well-equipped to handle these challenges. She’s a black-belt in kung fu, and her
body isn’t her only weapon. She’s got smarts, sass, and more tenacity than her Mexican
mafioso-wannabe grandfather. A few of her famous margaritas don’t hurt, either.
Army vet Persephone “Perri” Morgan has big plans, as her custom leather leashes, saddles,
and other pet accessories are the rage of dog and horse enthusiasts everywhere. But when
murder prances into the ring at a Massachusetts dog show, Perri must confront a cunning
killer who’s a breed apart.
Accompanied by her bestie Babette and four oversize canines, Perri motors down to the Big E
Dog Show in high style. Perri hopes to combine business with pleasure by also spending time
with sexy DC journalist Wing Pruett. Until a storm traps everyone at the exposition hall . . . and
a man’s body is found in a snow-covered field, a pair of pink poodle grooming shears plunged
through his heart.
Turns out the deceased was a double-dealing huckster who had plenty of enemies chomping
at the bit. But as breeders and their prize pets preen and strut, the murderer strikes again.
Aided by her trusty canine companions, Keats and Poe, Perri must collar a killer before she’s
the next “Dead in Show” winner.

and treachery in the latest Tea Shop Mystery from New York Times bestselling author
It is Sunday afternoon, and Theodosia and Drayton are catering a formal tea at a hot-air
balloon rally. The view aloft is not only stunning, they are also surrounded by a dozen other
colorful hot-air balloons. But as the sky turns gray and the clouds start to boil up, a strange
object zooms out of nowhere. It is a drone, and it appears to be buzzing around the balloons,
checking them out.
As Theodosia and Drayton watch, the drone, hovering like some angry, mechanized insect,
deliberately crashes into the balloon next to them. An enormous, fiery explosion erupts, and
everyone watches in horror as the balloon plummets to the earth, killing all three of its
Sirens scream, first responders arrive, and Theodosia is interviewed by the police. During the

were rabidly bidding on.
Intrigued, Theodosia begins her own investigation. Was it the CEO's soon-to-be ex-wife, who
is restoring an enormous mansion at no expense? The CEO's personal assistant, who also

for dirty dealing? Or was the killer the fiancée of one of Theodosia's dear friends, who turns
out to be an employee—and whistle-blower—at SyncSoft?
