I sort of stumbled into writing erotic romance. I had initially only intended to write
one erotic short story just to prove to myself that I could write something a bit
naughty. I had previously written vanilla romantic ghost stories, but had been thinking
about trying my hand at something a bit saucier for a while. I had a brief storyline in
mind and so started writing what should have been a short story. But I became so caught
up in the characters that I carried on writing until I ended up with what eventually
became a trilogy. It was whilst writing this that I discovered my love of writing BDSM
romance, with an emphasis on Dominance and submission.
I became passionate about showing the beauty of a D/s relationship. Not only the trust,
respect and honesty involved, but also how sexy Dominance and submission can be.
Whether itโs the heroine simply kneeling at the feet of her Dom or the hard spanking he
gives her whilst sheโs bent over his knee, itโs incredibly hot. The best sex comes from
the mind and D/s is all about being in the right headspace. I love coming up with
different ways for the Dom to torment the heroine to get her into this headspace and
the fun they have as a result.
Iโve become so used to writing erotic romance now that Iโm not sure I could write a
vanilla romance anymore. The temptation to make the male lead pin down the heroine and
give her a good hard spanking is just too strong.
I recently wrote a story called
KNEEL FOR YOU, part of the
OVER THE KNEE
anthology, which sums up my love of spanking and D/s fiction. Kirsten, the heroine, is
a journalist who is given an assignment to write an article about BDSM. Kirsten
protests at first, claiming not to know anything about BDSM, but that isnโt strictly
true. She had once been very active in the BDSM lifestyle, but thereโs no way she wants
anyone to know that. Despite her initial misgivings she ends up writing an exceptional
piece about Britainโs kinky secrets that even gets her praise from her hard-to-please
boss. The icing on the cake for Kirsten, though, is the Dom she meets during her
research. He soon reintroduces her to the joys of submission, spanking and very kinky
sex.
I had so much fun writing this story and canโt wait to get cracking with the next one.
I think Iโll be sticking to erotic romance for quite some time.
