FACTOTUM is the third book in the Master Blood Tattoo trilogy. I consider this book a fantasy, one rich in detail, adventure, and violence. The language D.M. Cornish uses is sometimes hard to navigate if you are unused to proper, old-world writing. The story still comes through, for Read more...

I am an avid reader and am hoping to one day have my own work published. I write poetry and have had some published in my newspaper back home in North Carolina. I currently live in Texas with my husband and two kids. Reading is a privilage I hope to always have and it brings me joy, adventure and peace. Some of the best magic, is that of an author who paints vivid pictures with their words and transports you on the adventure with them. Happy Reading!

Re: Runes (7:11pm October 8, 2010):

Runes sounds awesome and gee's Ireland is going to be so populated by the time I get there! lol
Always wanted to go there and have some highlander adventure.
As far as secret fantasy or desire, it would be to look and be as tough as Zena, the warrior princess but in modern times as a bounty hunter. Though weilding a big broad sword made specifically for me would be righteous as well. :)
Thank you for the chance to read your wonderful book.
Best Wishes.

Re: Dark Road To Darjeeling (9:46am October 5, 2010):

I love to read and part of the excitement is when me and my bff buy the book together, Starbucks in hand. We discuss the cover and share the excitement of the wait being over and we can sink ourselves into the story, catching up with them and the everyday just slips away for alittle while. As soon as we are done then it's more coffee and discussion time. :)
When I travel I always carry a book with me, though I am not one to read on the beach, kids make that impossible and thats okay because those are moments in time I don't want to miss. :)
The ideas here are awesome, to throw a dinner party and fix foods designed around a book, thats awesome. I will keep that in mind. It would be so much fun.
One of my fave authors is throughing a get together in New Orleans for Halloween weekend and that is where her books are based. We are so excited!
Best Wishes and I look forward to reading your books.

Re: The Spy Who Saved Christmas (9:38am October 5, 2010):

Thank you so much for sharing your story with everyone and I would love to paint, but as seeing as a stick figures are about the only things I draw well, yeah. lol
I love to read and I write poetry, these are my main hobbies. I am working out a story and hope to one day be published myself. :)
Best wishes and I hope you reach your 100 more fans soon.

Re: Warrior (7:45pm September 20, 2010):

My fan moment was meeting Sherilyn Kenyon at the Rita and Rita's Tea, I knew a few authors but when it came time to actually talk to her I was so tongue tied. Afterwards I coulda kicked myself, she was so nice and signed everything which was awesome. I am so glad I got to meet her and hear her speak, hopefully if I am lucky enough to meet her again my tongue will behave.

Re: Stronger Than Sin (7:57pm September 19, 2010):

Oooo that does sound good, I will have to check her out. Thanks for letting us know about this series.
Best Wishes.

Re: Warrior (9:27pm September 10, 2010):

Hi Zoe,
I am a new reader of the series and the one I read is all you said and more! You have a special gift as to paint the scenes in a way that comes vividly alive.
I would and am recommending you to anyone who will listen. I look forward to many more adventures with the Blades of the Roses. It is easy to see your love of the story, the characters and their adventures.
By the way, I saw a short interview with you and the tatoo you have of their symbol is an awesome tribute. :)

Re: Stolen Son (9:13pm September 10, 2010):

Hi Fran,
Great blog and yes this is what we want in our stories. The comparison at the end of books and their characters was a perfect example. Your books sound very interesting and through your blog I would definetly read them. Thank you for sharing with us.

Re: The Goddess of Fried Okra (4:37am August 2, 2010):

I love stories with strong women in them, no whimps for me. Also the reincarnation idea is intriguing. Looking forward to reading this one and I adore the title.
Best Wishes.

Re: Death by Diamonds (4:28am August 2, 2010):

I love the new season of True Blood and Eric, of course. :)
Alan Ball has taken the books and ran with them, I love the books and the show.
As to the Twilight books, tryed reading them and only got to 2. In them Bella is whiny, the movies I love tho. I am team Edward although this last one, there is some team Jacob too. :)
Eat Prey Love, looks good, didn't read the book but I am looking for it this week.
Miss Blair's books would rock as movies.
Take care and looking forward to your next blog and book!
Take care and Best Wishes.

Re: Ice Cold (2:19pm July 19, 2010):

Hope you have a Great time and looking forward to all the news when you get back.
Happy Travels.

Re: Tomb With A View (1:59pm July 19, 2010):

I really enjoy the Pepper Martin books and have passed them along to my friends who are now fans as well. I love how they keep you right there till the very end and they make me laugh. That is priceless to me. I am looking forward to reading this one as well and I did not know that about President Garfield. If I write with my left hand it looks like chicken scrath. :) And I agree if you can make Garfield funny, it would be you. :)
I love Ghost stories and when I was younger my mom would be visited by people we knew who had passed. I would wake up hearing someone walk through the hall or wake up cold. They don't visit me except in dreams which isn't as freaky you know. I love going to haunted places and sometimes you can really feel it when you first step foot in those places and sometimes you feel nothing. There is a tale here in San Antonio, that if you go to thie one set of rail road tracks and park the car on the tracks, little finger prints will appear on the trunk, bumper after they push you off the tracks. It is said they were killed by a train hitting their bus and they push the cars off so it won't happen again. Lots of fun Hauntings here.
Great blog and best wishes.

Re: Dragon Unmasked (3:08am June 17, 2010):

I love to read and lose time quickly. The story captures you and just sweeps you away. My eyes have been not so good for reading and I so missed it, it was like a piece of me was gone. I got meds and new glasses and I am back to what I love, reading.
Love the cover of Dragon Unmasked!
Thank you for sharing with us all here and best wishes.

Re: Dark Lover (4:19pm November 29, 2009):

I perfer the paranormal/erotica genre and that is what I read almost always now. I do venture out on rare occassions but I find them to be true/real life books. Like I would love to read Patrick S. book.
I have a keeper shelf and it is moved on to a few keeper shelves now. I love these books, stories and I definetly plan on reading them again.
The first grown up books Iremember reading were Stephen King and after I had kids it was Nora Roberts, I read all of them and Danielle Steele. Now a days I really don't read them anymore, except when Nora does one with a paranormal element.
Graet questions and it is always a blast talking about books! Oh and saying you are a lover of books and yes I keep them. :)

Re: Demon Ex Machina (2:09am October 8, 2009):

I really enjoy your books and what more perfect day was it to release, I mean it is my son's bday and all. :)

Re: Can't Stand the Heat (2:04am October 8, 2009):

Big Congrats on your debut novel and it sounds very good. Plus you gget recipes, woo-hoo! Knowing more about the characters is always a big bonus and by having a free story on your site it gives potential readers a look into your writing style and gets them hooked! So I say post it!

Re: Out Of The Darkness (1:59am October 8, 2009):

I haven't read either of these yet but they sound really good. Gee's that to get list just keeps a growing. :)

Re: From Friend To Father (3:52am June 22, 2009):

I read for the sheer enjoyment of an author taking me away from everyday and I do love happy endings. :)
In real life that doesn't always happen but in my books I can get that!

As to the attitude of the agent, it sucked.Women are often on the recieving end of this attitude, whether your experience or being a stay at home mom, yeah we get it from women and men. "So when are you going to get a job they ask, or ah I see". Yeah they really have no idea.

Happy Writing to you and please keep the happy endings coming!

Re: The Beautiful Being (3:44am June 22, 2009):

Great blog, and very insightful as well as the others comments.
Sometimes we should all just say, Life is a Journey that should be enjoyed and that one day it will all come full circle.

Re: Undead And Unwelcome (3:37am June 22, 2009):

Ya'll get everybody up there in Dallas, sure wish you would send some down to San Antonio!
Happy signings!

Re: Undead And Unwelcome (3:36am June 22, 2009):

Great blog and what if question!
I have a long list and have been blessed to meet a few already. At first you are like omg, but then I have Thankfully opened my mouth and asked questions. Candace Havens Sherrilyn Kenyon and Charlaine Harris were tops and very nice!
I would love to meet Adrian Phoniex, I have talked to her via internet but I think it would be a blast to meet her!

Re: Dead And Gone (4:48am May 13, 2009):

Hi Sara!
That's funny because sometimes the voices do intrude, for instance we listened to LKH on audio, but she did a wonderful job so I am good with that one. I just got my copy od Dead and Gone and I sure hope that doesn't happen, I like Anna and the show, which looks to be even better this season. It's just I started with the books years ago and after meeting Charlaine Harris, well I hear her voice reading it to me. I treasure that. :)
So good luck with it and I hope I still hear Charlaines voice! By the way the books are "I can not put them down"!! They move very quickly and when you get done you are like where is the next one!!
Happy raeding!

Re: Let It Ride (4:41am May 13, 2009):

I love all your ideas, I can make them mine right?! :)
As to this week, I can't wait to see Lost's final show, love that one! Medium, House and Hell's Kitchen (I am pulling for Danny) too.
Great Blog! Have a Terrific week!

Re: Red Kiss (4:38am May 13, 2009):

Ilove the title Butterfly Tatoo! and the excert, oh my!

Now I can't wait to read it!!

Re: The Promise (2:48pm April 29, 2009):

I started reading when I was young, first book I remember picking as a teenager was "Christy".
I love to read, my sanity would not be the same without them! lol

Re: Comfort Food (2:22pm April 29, 2009):

Hi Sara,
Great topic! As for me I used to read alot of stand alones, like nora Roberts but I adore her triologys too. As to a series in general I enjoy them and if the writer is awesomeness then you can jump right back in no problems. It is like visiting family or old friends. They make you laugh, cry and happy...they take you away from the blues, the troubles and problems for alittle while. As to series I would cry if they ended...Yasmine Galernorn, Jeanie Frost, Charlaine Harris's Sookie series and if Lora Leigh stopped her shifter stories! As to the series that has burned out for me, it would be with the last Betsy one from Mary Janice Davidson. I have read them all but this one was wow and I got that hard cover...
I just discovered Toni Causey and her Bobby Faye series, omg it is a funny, laugh out loud series that just makes you feel good and I look forward to the third one!

**HAPPY READING TO ALL**

Re: Behind The Shadows (2:09pm April 29, 2009):

I am not a shopper persae but when I am feeling emotional, whether it be sad, mad or pmsing a good book always makes me feel better. Looking at clothes, gee's depressing and how can that say one size and it not fit at all???!!! I DidNot grow!
So, I would be excited about the books, I mean in my opinion and the economy...that to be read pile may be what saves my sanity!
So enjoy and it's not like we went into debt for a few books! Love the half price store when I get lucky, when I don't it is depressing and the B & N across the street with it's yummo coffee may just get lucky that day!

Glad you enjoyed the book!

Re: Skin Trade (11:49am April 15, 2009):

I love her books and to see them played out on screen!! Awesome! Can not wait!

Re: Red-Headed Stepchild (11:25am April 15, 2009):

Hey Jaye!
I just my copy of Redheaded Step Child and can't wait to read it!
I love horror movies justnot the slasher ones, to much gore not enough story to me. :)
As to dealing with your fears with humor and a kick butt herione...Awesome! So what would you do with your fear of snakes and heights?
Don't do the shopping network but I do love to shop when I can!
Have a Great Day!

Re: The Accidental Human (12:40pm April 13, 2009):

I really am a "cover junkie"! lol Now that may make me pick up the book but won't make me buy it. The blurb on the back has to sell me on that.
I love the cartoon covers like the ones MJDavidson used to do and Dakota Cassidy does. I also love the ones with kick *** heriones on the fronts like J.Frost's, Jaye Wells and so forth. Then there are the sexy ones for the Erotica's, really like those too!
My pet peeve is when they put people on the fronts and they do not match the characters inside! I really enjoy LKHamilton but that cover with Micah on the front, hello! did not match Micah from the books. :(
I know several authors and I think they should have a bigger say in the covers, they know the characters, they know the storyline and they feel the passion for it unike someone just else who hasn't read the book you know.
These are really great questions and hopefully some of the publishers will read them!

Have a Great Day and Happy Reading!

Re: Bound And Determined (3:49am March 8, 2009):

Hi Shayla!

Love, love, love the new cover and were they crazy to do the first one! Congrats on the new re-release!

Re: A Perfect Darkness (3:41am March 8, 2009):

Hi Jamie!
I agree we all get that gut feeling or bad vibe and should always pay attention to it. :)
Anything psychic, shape shifter, vamp or witch is paranormal to me. The "label" of paranormal covers a very broad spectrum and is a most enjoyable escape. Sometimes they leave you saying...what if? and isn't that fun!

Great Topic! Have a Wnoderful Weekend.

Re: Highway To Hell (12:24pm March 2, 2009):

Wow Candy! Awesome updates and I can not wait to read Jaye's book! Thank you so much for the info!
Have a Great Week and hey, how is the painting going?

Take care and **HUGS**

Chris

Re: Dead Until Dark (9:34am September 12, 2008):

Hi Candace!
Great blog on the books, but as to the Charlaine Harris's True Blood...LOVE IT! I can not wait till Sunday Nights now! The Cover is sexy and goes right along with the show I totally agree. Though I did love her previous covers!
