STRANGER begins in the year 1875 and ends in 1876. In
between, the story spans from the Canadian Rockies, to a
ship crossing, through the lands of fairy and otherworld,
and crosses the ocean to England. One could describe this
story as a historical paranormal adventure romance. At times
it reminded me of Alice in Wonderland, Indiana Jones, and
the best of Titanic rolled into one story.
The main characters in STRANGER are Catullus Graves, the
hero if you will, who is on a mission to bring back his
friend and fellow Blade, Astrid. Lesperance, Astrid's love,
rounds out there group. Catullus Graves is a world
traveler, an inventor, and a warrior for all people. He is a
Blade and dedicated to their mission of keeping the world
from domination by evil doers. Gemma, our heroine, is a
writer for the Tribune. This red-headed, independent woman
has ideals ahead of her time. She is strong willed, witty,
admirable and a fighter. Gemma secretly follows the Blade
until she is caught eavesdropping and her world is forever
changed.
STRANGER is the fourth book by Zoe Archer, in the The Blades
of the Rose series. Stranger is the first book I have read
by this author and I will definitely be reading the others
in this series. STRANGER is a mix of romance, magic, and
adventure. The Blades of the Rose are a talented,
multifaceted group of people fighting to keep the world's
magic from falling into the wrong hands by any means
necessary, including death. The romances in this story are
believable and touching in their honesty. I found myself
captivated by the depths of their feelings. The erotic
thoughts, scenes, and passionate moments are all done in good
taste and add to the story.
Zoe Archer sweeps you away to her world, where you can see
vividly the pictures she has created with her words. She is
a wonderful writer with a magic of her own. In my opinion
STRANGER and the other books in this series
are must reads. I hope you pick up this book and enjoy it
as much as I have.
He protects the world's magic--with his science. But even
the best scientists can fall prey to the right
chemistry. . .
Looking For Trouble
Gemma Murphy has a nose for a story--even if the boys in
Chicago's newsrooms would rather focus on her chest. So when
she runs into a handsome man of mystery discussing how to
save the world from fancy-pants Brit conspirators, she's
sensing a scoop. Especially when he mentions there's magic
involved. Of course, getting him on the record would be
easier if he hadn't caught her eavesdropping. . .
Lighting His Fuse
Catullus Graves knows what it's like to be shut out: his
ancestors were slaves. And he's a genius inventor with
appropriately eccentric habits, so even people who love him
find him a little odd. But after meeting a certain redheaded
scribbler, he's thinking of other types of science.
Inconvenient, given that he needs to focus on preventing the
end of the world as we know it. But with Gemma's insatiable
curiosity sparking Catullus's inventive impulses, they might
set off something explosive anyway. . .
