Clare Dargin is a science fiction, fantasy, and romance
writer. She has a love for these genres and the military,
all of which she weaves together very well.
In SPECULATIVE SKY, Astrophysicist April Mullen takes a
chance and leaves her home for an assignment on a
science colony far away from Earth. April's job is to
monitor the stars at night and to record her findings. When
she arrives, she notices that her new home is a little
different. Though there is evidence of life out there, they
don't want her to either acknowledge it or do anything with
this discovery. April finds this troubling and thus begins
her tale.
I found this story to be very engaging and read right
through it. Clare Dargin has a distinctive voice that comes
through in her writing. If you enjoy science fiction,
fantasy, and a determined heroine this is the book to read.
Throw in a touch of Alice in Wonderland, and you are set.
Astrophysicist April Mullen
has just been hired to monitor the deepest reaches of outer
space. In this small outpost filled with scientists,
she notices something amiss. Though the idea of
searching for extra-terrestrial contact is permitted the
practice of doing so is not encouraged.
Not satisfied with the status quo, April
decides to forgo the warnings of her superiors to make
contact with the inhabitants of that speculative sky.
