Re: Night Veil (9:56pm June 29, 2011):

Definitely Batman! Strong, sexy, and mysterious are qualities of his that intrigue me. I like that he sees things in different hues of black and white as opposed to the goody-goodyness of Superman.

Re: Dead in the Family (12:24pm May 30, 2010):

I read lots of different genres based on rave reviews, friend's recommendations, and past experience with the author. I love Charlaine's Sookie books and have the latest sitting here to be read next.

Re: Blown Away (12:20pm May 30, 2010):

I love series books in any number they're released in! And since I have no patience I read them as they come out. Nancy Gideon has a trilogy coming out soon that looks good, an interesting mix of steaminess and suspense. Some of my favorites from the past are Sherrilyn Kenyon's Born of series from last year as well as Lorraine Heath's Scoundrels of St. James Street. Great reads!

Re: Over My Dead Body (3:32pm November 16, 2009):

Those are such sweet memories you have of your grandma. I feel the same way about my mom. There's certain cooking smells I associate with her. And some of the funniest stories about her revolve around her early cooking misadventures (when she was a young girl just learning to cook).

Re: Captive Desires (1:52pm November 2, 2009):

I'm a fan of cooking exotic recipes and just experimenting with old recipes to make them new. It would be fun to have my own cooking show or be a chef to celebrities.

Re: Final Approach (3:48pm October 30, 2009):

Yes, I always recycle the candy. I take it to friends and family members. I also crush some of the candy and bottle it up to use as ice cream toppings.

Re: Mr. Darcy Vampyre (3:25pm October 28, 2009):

I've been wanting this book forever! It sounds great and I like how you take the original story and make it your own.

Re: My Wicked Vampire (3:05pm October 20, 2009):

Works that have humor in them definitely don't get the credit they deserve. Just look at the Oscars. Humorous movies are never in the running for the top prizes. And I think humor is extremely hard to write because of people's ideas of humor, therfore when you come across a good one you need to get the word out.

Re: Finger Lickin' Fifteen (1:42pm October 17, 2009):

I love scenic descriptions. They add to the book's atmosphere. I think Charlaine Harris' Sookie books are also great at descriptiveness. The bayou really adds to the otherworldliness of the stories.

Re: Can't Stand the Heat (2:06pm October 6, 2009):

I too like to read about upbeat heroes--not all the time, but to take a break from alpha male broodiness. And Adam definitely seems to fit the bill. As to your website, I love excerpts and for this book recipes are a great idea.

Re: Demon Ex Machina (4:17pm October 5, 2009):

Yes, sometimes it's the small things in life that are the most impressive. Magic isn't always on a grand scale. Have a safe trip! Love your books and looking forward to more in the future!

Re: Lucky Break (3:48pm September 29, 2009):

Congrats on your latest release Carly! This series sounds great and I definitely have the books on my wishlist!

Re: Beloved Vampire (3:08pm August 17, 2009):

Love your books and agree with you about hating whiny vampires. I don't like it when they spend the whole time hating who they are. If I could never get sick, never grow old, and never die....I wouldn't be complaining.

I do have to leave this qoute from True Blood said by Bill since it's appropriate to today's post, "I'm a vampire, I'm supposed to be tormented."

Re: Hot Pursuit (12:27pm August 2, 2009):

Yes, I'm definitely using the library more. I actually just got Brockmann's book from the library and wasn't on the wait list very long at all. The only problem is, our libraries don't have a lot of what I'm looking for. So I end up trading or buying a few books.

Re: Earth Guys Are Easy (2:53pm July 15, 2009):

Congrats on the weight loss! And one of my fave songs is Carry On Wayward Song by Kansas. It's especially in my head since the tv show Supernatural uses it every season finale.

Re: The Beach House (12:17pm July 12, 2009):

Whenever people mock my romance reading I always whip out a historical fact I learned from my reading to impress them. And then inform them I'm probably more informed than Dr. Ruth and Sue Johanson on certain topics, which kinda frightens them I think.

Re: Object of Desire (12:49pm July 10, 2009):

Sounds like a great read! And I really enjoy the action/steaminess combo in books so keep 'em coming.

Re: Dragons Prefer Blondes (1:47pm July 9, 2009):

Definitely Batman! Superman is too much of a goodie-goodie. And besides, Batman from the Justice League cartoon is gorgeously drawn.

Re: Love At First Flight (12:26pm July 3, 2009):

Thanks Michael for such interesting insights (oh, and you to Marie)! The book sounds so good!

Re: The Scot And I (1:36pm June 25, 2009):

I love historicals and am so happy there are still authors out there wanting to write them. The new book sounds great!

Re: Seducing an Angel (1:05pm June 23, 2009):

Hello Mary. I love your books and have many of them on my keeper shelf! Very much looking forward to your new book and am so happy you came here today to talk about it.

Re: Dial Emmy For Murder (12:11pm June 20, 2009):

Wow, I'm impressed with your ability to multi-task, acting while writing. And you couldn't have chosen a better storyline, since they always say you should write what you know about.

Re: My Forbidden Desire (10:21am May 25, 2009):

I don't worry about the inconsistencies. Each author creates their own mythologies for their stories and I just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Re: Dead And Gone (11:29am May 9, 2009):

I actually don't have too much of a problem with Paquin. At times she seems to lay the Southern accent on a bit more than necessary, but she doesn't invade my reading of the book.

No matter what though, I adore this series and am excited to start reading this. Just gotta finish up Lover Avenged first.

Re: Relentless (11:46am May 4, 2009):

I like books where the hero/heroine are not conventionally good looking. The characters fall in love not because of the outer shell, but what's inside.

Re: Wild Heat (12:50pm April 30, 2009):

Thanks so much for telling us your journey to become a writer. Very interesting. I also want to say how much I liked your heroines in Take Me and Taste Me. We need more heroines that break the mold for what's considered beautiful.

Re: The Madness Of Lord Ian Mackenzie (1:48pm April 29, 2009):

Ian sounds like a great character and I applaud you bringing Aspergers into the open. My brother has it and through alot of hard work he'll be a senior in high school next year.

As to unusual heroes, I'd say Drake from Jenna Black's Hungers of the Heart. He has to feed off humans to survive, but tries to kill only those that deserve it.

Re: Take Me Two Times (3:28pm April 21, 2009):

I've loved your other books and this one looks equally as good!

Re: The Promise (4:29pm April 20, 2009):

I don't remember when I started reading. I do know that it was at a very young age and that because of this my parents thought I'd grow up to be a genius (ha-ha). The first books I read were the Little House and Nancy Drew books. And my first romance book was at the age of 12 and was A Rose In Winter by Kathleen Woodiwis. The reasons I read are for relaxation and the exotic locales are cheaper than an actual trip (I can vacation vicariously through the stories).

Re: Vexing The Viscount (12:29pm February 15, 2009):

The book sounds really good. And as for reusing condoms, I guess some protection is better than no protection.

Re: Bluegrass Courtship (12:26pm February 15, 2009):

I love plain-Jane heroines. It's more realistic to see a heroine who doesn't fit any molds and is comfortable in her own skin.

Re: Millionaire's Secret Seduction (4:35pm February 13, 2009):

My love to hate character is (please don't think I'm too odd) Dexter Morgan. He's insanely brilliant. And at the height of goriness he says some truly funny things. So most times, I love him more than I dislike him.

Re: The Courtier's Secret (4:27pm February 13, 2009):

What you say about Scarlett O'Hara is very true. The historical circumstances that occured to her character are what made her become such a strongly remembered heroine.

Re: The Man She Married (4:23pm February 13, 2009):

I love the quotes! One of my desk calendars has "quotes-of-the-day" and some of them are really good. Happy Valentine's Day to everybody!
