It's hot and lazy, the last days of summer

Review books and fun -- oh my!

I love being a book reviewer, but for the publications I work for, it means I can't gush about ARCs I love until months after I've read them -- when the books finally come out! A large portion of my reading falls into that secret category, but here are some books I've read this summer that I can recommend!

The Drowning Girl by Caitlin Kiernan

Boneland by Alan Garner

Uncanny Avengers: Red Shadow vol 1 by Cassiday and Remender

Crimson Frost, Spartan Frost, and Midnight Frost by Jennifer Estep

Magic Rises by Ilona Andrews

Hawkeye: My Life as a Weapon vol 1 by Fraction and Aja

Hereville: How Mirka Got Her Sword by Deutsch and Richmond

Spera by Josh Tierney (and a host of illustrators)

Codex Born by Jim C. Hines
