Cheryl Bolen's My Lord Wicked, a $.99 Gothic Regency ebook, has won Best
Historical in the 2012 International Digital Awards for books that were
published in 2011 as ebooks.
Two of her other 2011 ebooks were finalists for the Best Historical award: her
g-rated traditional Regency, The Earl's Bargain, and With His Lady's
Assistance, a humorous romantic Regency mystery (which is Book 1 of the Regent
Mysteries).
My Lord Wicked spent several weeks at number two in Amazon Regencies during
2011. The Earl's Bargain spent several weeks as the number one selling Regency
historical on Amazon during and made the Kindle Top 100 Bestsellers. Both
titles are still in Amazon's Top 50 Bestselling Regency ebooks.
With His Lady's Assistance, named to the Five Star Hall of Fame at the
Historical Romance Critic site, received a 4 star review from Romantic Times
magazine. Besides being sold at all online retailers as an ebook, it has
recently become available as a trade paperback.
Publishing has certainly changed since Harlequin Historical published Bolen's
first historical romance novel, A Duke Deceived, in 1998. Then, she won the
award Notable New Author. In 2006, her mass market paperback One Golden Ring
won the Holt Medallion for Best Historical. That bestselling, award-winning
book is now out of print and has never been digitalized.
"I will be happy to get my rights back on that book so I can epublish it and
its prequel, Counterfeit Countess," Bolen said.
The International Digital Awards contest was sponsored by the Oklahoma Romance
Writers of America.
