Publishers Disservice to Readers

[editor note: response to Tanzey Talk: July 2006] I agree with you that the publishers are doing a disservice to their loyal readers when they fail to put on the book cover that it is a series book. A very simple book number on the cover or like Harlequin will do, a name logo, would be so helpful. If I like the book but it's not the first one, I go to my library first and then a UBS and then if I really must have number one I scan the internet. Another thing that bothers me alot is when Harlequin waits between months on continuing a series. Jo Leigh's Harl Blaze Closer was published this month. I couldn't put it down even though I felt she squeaked some of it to fit (Delta Forces never forget to check anything and everything.) The next one is in November. I hate that they do this. Why can't they ALWAYS just do one month after another for the required months. If I read a review of a book and I like it, I will check it out on Romantic Times Reviews. I try not to buy less than a 4 but will not buy less than a 3. I just want to say that I have started to use my library alot as the prices are getting too costly. Those ratings of 3-4 than 4 are library or UBS. I have my favorite authors I always buy, one being Carly Phillips. I had the chance to finally meet her a few years back and she was so nice.
