Kari Lee Townsend | Mayhem on the Mind + Giveaway!

websiteamazonbookbubgoodreadsfacebooktwitter

Hi there. My name is Kari Lee Townsend, and MAYHEM ON THE MIND is the fifth book in my Kalli Ballas Mystery series. Think MONK meets MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING! I sure do have a blast writing these books with the crazy Greek mamas getting into all sorts of trouble. Kalli is adopted, and her boyfriend Detective Nik Stevens is only half Greek, but that’s Greek enough. The mamas have babies on the mind. Meanwhile, Kalli and Nik haven’t even finished the remodel on the house they split, let alone talked about marriage and babies. They’re turning their two apartments into one house, but when a murder happens, mayhem ensues and any plans for the future are put on hold. I hope everyone is coping with this crazy winter and that our spring will be fabulous reading weather.

M is for Mamas – Greek or otherwise who cause all sorts of mischief!

A is for Aphrodite’s – Kalli’s parents’ Greek restaurant.

H is for Hera’s Halo – Aunt Tasoula’s pride and joy salon.

E is for Evil – Aunt Tasoula’s arch nemesis winds up dead at their 40th class reunion, and she’s the number one suspect! Evil is afoot and a killer is still on the loose.

M is for Mayhem – Aunt Tasoula is on a break with her boyfriend Tate, and all sorts of mayhem ensues when she decides to become The Majorette and hand out batons to her suitors.

O is for Ophelia – Kalli’s ma has had enough of her sister Tasoula’s antics. Her sister is in denial and not taking this murder investigation seriously.

N is for Nikos Stevens – Kalli’s boyfriend has different sides to his personality that come out depending on the situation: Nikos the devilish Greek, Nik the nice guy, and Detective Stevens the all-business, no-nonsense cop.

T is for Trouble – Thinking Kalli’s prissy calico cat Priscilla will live in peace with Nik’s slobbery St. Bernard Wolfgang

H is for Hand Sanitizer – A necessity for a germaphobe like Kalli

E is for Erickson – Kalli’s boss at Interludes who carries her Kalli Original Lingerie line

M is for Mind Reading – Kalli’s gift after falling and hitting her head, but only through the power of touch. A nightmare for a germaphobe like her.

I is for Investigate – Which is what Detective Nik Stevens is doing with his best friend Detective Boomer Matheson, who happens to be engaged to Kalli’s best friend Jaz.

N is for Not Happening – The remodel is put on hold until the murder investigation is solved. But how long will Nik wait for Kalli this time?

D is for Desperate – Which is how Kalli feels if she can’t clear her aunt’s name!

Thank you for having me. I will give one signed paperback away to one commenter. Good luck and happy reading!

MAYHEM ON THE MIND by Kari Lee Townsend

Kalli Ballas Mystery #5

Mayhem on the Mind

Introverted OCD fashion designer, Kalli Ballas, and extroverted Detective Nik Stone take the plunge and move in together, but knocking a wall down between their halves of the house doesn’t necessarily make it a home…

It’s spring and eating no meat during Lent is driving everyone a little crazy, most especially Kalli’s Aunt Tasoula, who has a ravenous appetite. The Greeks wear a red and white bracelet made out of a thread called Martis for the entire month to celebrate the beginning of spring and protect against diseases. Red symbolizes passion and life while white represents purity.

Aunt Tasoula’s nemesis from high school is anything but pure and the epitome of a disease. She tried to break up Tasoula and her late husband when they were younger, and now she’s trying to come between her and her hunky new man, which has Tasoula seeing red. When the woman winds up murdered, Aunt Tasoula becomes the number one suspect.

They say home is where the heart is, but Kalli’s heart is invested in clearing her aunt’s name. Will Nik still be there when the remodel is finished?

Re: Kari Lee Townsend | Mayhem on the Mind + Giveaway!

The story has relatable characters who are down-to-earth. I
enjoy reading close proximity and I've known a few Greek
families and they are pushy about food and other things.

Adding cultural details and influence into a story adds a
certain richness and usually a bit of chaos. This sounds like
it will be an enjoyable read.
