Re: A Thread So Thin (2:47pm May 8, 2010):

Great post! I love YA books! But then again, I love books! I love Harry Potter, I love the Twilight series, and I love the House of Night series to name a few. Seeing a pattern? You should. I love all books but I have gotten "addicted" to anything with a paranormal twist to it! I guess there's also the "pattern" that I enjoy reading series. Every once in a while, though, I like to read a non-series book & those are NEVER YA books. Regardless, I love <3 reading!

Re: Rule's Bride (2:36pm April 23, 2010):

I've gotten addicted to paranormal romances but these stories have me intrigued enough to take a break from the paranormal! If you wrote these stories half as well as your post & information then these will prove to be wonderful reads! I look forward to reading them all!

Re: The Firefighter's Secret Baby (7:27pm April 16, 2010):

I definitely want to thank your editor for the idea and you for writing the story! My husband is a firefighter! I plan to get a tattoo that says "My Husband" above and "My Hero" below either the firefighter or EMS symbol (since he is also a paramedic)! He truly is my hero! Thank you for the chance to read and comment on this story!

Re: Dead Head (3:34am April 14, 2010):

I've read "Pushing Up Daisies" but I think I need to read it again. I try to look at the bright side of my disability and while having such an awful memory (one aspect of my disability) makes a lot of things difficult, it can save money on books and movies! Since I've read a LOT of other books since having read "Pushing Up Daisies" I've forgotten most of the story but I know I loved it or I wouldn't have bought it! I would love a chance to win this prize and I agree with the person who said you even showed your creativity in choosing exactly what to offer! Your post really got me thinking about my neighbors and I have to say, it's kind of scary how true it is that we don't know all that much about our neighbors. I also wanted to add that I would LOVE a look at your idea file too! Not to use your ideas, of course, but because I like the way you think! LOL :-)

Re: Prime Evil (1:17am November 22, 2009):

By the way, I absolutely LOVE that you referred to all those stories in your head as puppies! That's a truly fantastic analogy!

Re: Prime Evil (1:09am November 22, 2009):

Wow! While I am not a published writer (or even anywhere near even attempting to realize that dream), I can totally identify with you. What's even worse is that I have a 2 year old daughter and 13 year old son and not only have the time or attention to put towards realizing that dream but I also have no way to do so until my husband gets me a laptop someday. Also, while I have one, my husband is rarely home because of his work and school schedules so he isn't able to even give me an hour to attempt to write (as if the stories would wait for whatever time I could allot to them LOL)! Oh well, someday...

Re: The Vampire Diaries: The Awakening (12:33pm November 22, 2009):

I don't have a preference for the next smackdown (although I LOVE the idea of doing smackdowns {fantastic idea that I thank you for}). As far as this weeks smackdown... I agree with the others. Damon is more manipulative than brutal so I think Angelus would win. The only way I could see Damon winning is if he manipulated Angelus into a trap. I haven't seen much of Angelus in action to know whether trapping him is a possibility but I've seen enough to believe that in a head on fight, Angelus would win.

Re: The Splendor Falls (4:46am November 21, 2009):

No, I haven't read this yet but thanks a lot for extending my TBR list even more! LOL Seriously, though, after reading what you wrote I think this is going straight to the top of the list. Especially since I am familiar with some of her work & agree that she is a talented author!

Re: Prime Evil (2:45am November 18, 2009):

I'm not by my books right now but I'm pretty sure that Sherrilyn Kenyon writes the style I like best. I prefer the stories with vampires start out as carpathians who fight for good and sometimes have to kill pure vampires to protect others. Those stories take you along on the carpathian's struggle to remain good and not turn vampire (which only happens when they feed on someone human or carpathian until death). I can't get enough of those stories although I enjoy nearly all paranormal stories whether they have vampires, were-species, psychics, or people with any other gifts/talents.

Re: Dead Pan (9:56pm November 14, 2009):

Wow! I can hardly wait to take a bite out of this series! Off to your website now.

Re: Kindred In Death (1:40am November 9, 2009):

I love series (whether long or semi-short) because I like the interconnected characters but I prefer series that, while interconnected, don't HAVE to be read in order. I agree that sometimes it gets irritating to have to wait for the next book to come out! I get so into the story and then, boom!, I have to wait months for the next one! This is especially irritating to me because I have an awful memory and often forget either to get the next book when it finally does come out or forget what happened before and then need to re-read the earlier books before I can truly get into the new one! While I (of course) keep the entire series fully intending to read them again, it does (like others mentioned) make it difficult to find new authors or make a dent in my TBR list to have go through this at times. LOL Great topic for your blog, as usual Sandi!

Re: The Wrong Side of Dead (1:36am November 4, 2009):

All I can think is, OMGoodness! I love that: is she a "goat/gold digger" remark! Too funny! Looking forward to reading your newest book!

Re: Killjoy (1:24am November 4, 2009):

I can't think of a single villian that hasn't been named (and that I don't agree with). If I had to choose just one, though, I think it would have to be Magneto.

Re: Silver Silence (9:35am October 28, 2009):

Wow! I'm really not sure what to say other than that...WOW! I can't wait to read this and keeping my fingers crossed to win!

Re: Santa Honey (3:15am October 25, 2009):

Okay, I'm not working at full power! It would help if my two year old would get back on a NORMAL sleep schedule! Anyway, the reason I say I'm not functioning at full power is because I posted how I'm looking forward to reading your stuff and after looking at your website I realized I already own (and read) three of your books! The sad thing is, I only keep books that I loved and plan on reading again and obviously yours fall into that category or I wouldn't still have them! LOL Keep up the great work!

Re: Santa Honey (2:42am October 25, 2009):

I honestly can't say whether I would enjoy reading an ebook or not because I have yet to experience it. I kind of doubt it though because I downloaded a book on my iPod from my library's website and I couldn't even finish it. I ended up giving in and just reading it in print (which I already had & had only downloaded it to try to listen to it while cleaning) because I just couldn't "escape" into the story (whether I was cleaning or not) the way I can with a paper copy.
I am so sorry to hear how little my favorite (or ANY) authors make on the books they write! I also think it is absolutely HORRIBLE that you (or anyone) loses revenue because of piracy! I can say with absolute certainty that I will never intentionally/knowingly take advantage of anything pirated! That would make me as much of a criminal as the people who make whatever it is available!
As far as there being so many paranormal romance books available, I had assumed it was because of demand. I will admit to being currently addicted to them but I haven't always been and doubt I always will be so (despite my addiction) I truly hope that situation gets resolved.
I thank you for enlightening me by writing this blog. I also want to thank you for all the hard work you put into each and every story you write and look forward to reading your books. Finally, I want to thank you for giving us a chance to win your contest. I have yet to ever win a contest but that may be partly because I only enter if the author interests me. Even if I don't win this contest I will definitely be reading your work and I'm also going to check out the book cover that has been mentioned several times! LOL Thanks again for everything!

Re: The Hunt (2:10am October 12, 2009):

This is a definite must have for me whether or not I win! Not only because this is my preferred genre (and sounds wonderful!) but also because I feel a kinship to you due to the fact that I have always read so much that my dad nicknamed me "book maggot". He said that I went through so many books so quickly that I couldn't possibly be a "bookworm" since worms are pretty slow.
Of course, like so many of us, I have been handed lemons. In my case the main "lemon" in my life is being legally disabled at a pretty early age. My lemonade from that is the fact that, although I am unable to work, I am able to be a stay at home mom! Sure, it can be harder than a lot of jobs but the rewards are far greater and the "boss" is more forgiving. I mean, if I'm hurting too badly to complete my duties (cleaning the house or even playing with my 2 year old) I don't have to fear the loss of my "job". I definitely have the sexy partner too or I wouldn't have the two year old! LOL Also, my partner may not be home much between his job(s) and going to school to become a paramedic but when he is home he helps as much as he can and even when he's not home I know he's always there for me!
Thank you for posting this blog! The timing couldn't have been better considering I have been thinking about this a lot lately. That is another one of the ways I make my "lemonade", by looking at the bright side of things. While the silver lining is sometimes hard to see it is usually there if you either look hard enough or simply wait for it to form. Thanks again & keep writing!

Re: Out Of The Darkness (3:09pm October 8, 2009):

I agree with everyone. Definitely a wonderful teaser and definitely on the must read list! Also, as for the contents of the substance, I agree with Theresa's suggestion. I like the idea that the formula was intended for another purpose and the psychic abilities were as unexpected as the insanity. This also leaves it open to perhaps have another series where another attempt produces another side effect (perhaps shape shifting). I also like Theresa's idea of it being an ancient elixir. This makes me think of alchemy and opens up so many possibilities. For example, you could end up bringing back extinct species or dragons. Wow! Can you tell that your blog (and the replies) has made me think creatively as well as making me excited to read your books?!? Thanks for the books and thanks for the blog!

Re: The Lute And The Liar (3:43pm October 7, 2009):

I appreciate this blog! I've always wanted to be a writer but have several reasons I don't pursue that. First, I am terrible about figuring out where I want to put paragraph breaks and such (most letters I write are one LONG paragraph LOL). Also, there is NO time for myself between dealing with a 13 year old, a two year old, a 10 month old great dane puppy, and housework. I hardly have time to sleep! Finally, I doubt I'd have the creativity necessary to be published.
I love your advice though! If I ever did attempt to write it would definitely be paranormal and the standard advice certainly does not apply to that genre. Your advice is certainly more helpful!
Regardless of whether I win one of your books I definitely plan on reading them. Particularly because it is in my preferred genre. Thank you for sharing and for the opportunity to win!

Re: Demon Ex Machina (2:54pm October 5, 2009):

I truly love reading an authors blog about everyday things! It makes you seem more "real" to me. Still magical in the way that your mind works but more real. You do realize that by being an author you become a magician, right? I thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating your version of reality to let me escape mine.I only hope that our very real financial situation improves to the point that I can afford to buy more escapes. I will definitely be taking advantage of the free podcast you are offering. Thank you for that.

Re: Lucky Break (2:24pm October 5, 2009):

That sounds like a good idea but, like many, I end up getting lost in the book. I've come to accept the fact that I can only do so many chores before I need to stop & read for my sanity! Of course, even that is easier said than done with a two year old in the house! Good thing for me that when mommy reads Alyssa likes to grab one of her books and "read" too. Yay for reading!!!

Re: Hex In High Heels (5:24pm October 2, 2009):

I agree about the were-cats. Especially the big ones like leopards, lions, and panthers! I find that even more interesting (read "sexier") than say a were-kitty cat. LOL! Only because the large cats are usually so sleek, toned, and sinewy that I can better imagine them as a sexy human. Then again, I'd like to see what you could do to make a reader believe in a were-kitty cat... LOL! I also love the idea of a ghost/spirit lover. Ah! I might as well admit it! I love anything paranormal! Keep on writing and I'll keep on reading!

Re: A Dark Love (2:10pm September 30, 2009):

I can hardly wait to read this book! I am like Caroline in that it took many years and lots of heartache for my Spidey sense (and sense of self worth) improved enough for me to find, recogonize, and realize I deserved my Prince Charming. The fact that you are not as much like her as I am makes me even more intrigued to read her story! Also, I'm grateful that you are telling her story. While Caroline may be fiction many women like her exist and hopefully they can learn from her story despite her fictional status.

Re: The Cowboy From Christmas Past (10:43am September 30, 2009):

I read this story before but didn't comment. Even though I only originally came back to leave a comment to enter for the contest, when I saw which story it was I had to reread it! I absolutely loved reading this the second time just as much as, if not more than, the first time! Thank you so much for sharing! I can truly understand the love we have for our pets. We currently have a nearly 10 month old purebred great dane named Harley. She is such a big oaf I often call her Harley Horse or Moose but she is the sweetest dog I've ever had in my life! We've had her since she was old enough to take home and it's wonderful to see the bond she has especially with my now 2 year old daughter! Thank you again for sharing and giving us a chance to share with you!

Re: The Cowboy From Christmas Past (12:45pm July 27, 2009):

I've heard that rockers and bands aren't all that innocent to begin with but it was nice of you to change the names anyway. LOL

Re: Paradise Valley (2:21am April 12, 2009):

Right now I'm reading Heartsick by Chelsea Cain. So far, it isn't a romance book (and I doubt it will be) but all my romance books were downstairs and this one wasn't. As far as what my choice in reading goes, I am addicted to paranormal romances!!! Movies, on the other hand, I have been watching more lighthearted movies. I just bought Marley & Me, Bedtime Stories, and Bolt today. Sure, I have 2 kids (maybe 3 if I'm lucky and am pregnant right now) but I bought the movies because I wanted to see them. Ha-ha

Re: Men Of The Otherworld (9:51pm January 22, 2009):

"Men of The Otherworld" sounds wonderful! You are one of my absolute favorite authors! Please pick me!
