The “Good Girl Loves Bad Boy” story is a tale as old as time. After all, its theme is rooted in the fairy tale “Beauty and the Beast.”

Except, in modern retellings, Beauty has become the heroine who is sometimes virginal, always sweet-natured and occasionally naive. While Beast has become the rough-around-the-edges, sinfully sexy hero who pushes her to see things in a new light and stirs a passion within her that she’s never had before.

I love the “Good Girl Loves Bad Boy” story because it usually involves the heroine learning how to stand up for herself as the hero finally finds redemption and, along the way, they fall in love. And if you’re reading my stories, they also have lots of sex!

Speaking of my stories, my new novel “Delicious Temptation” features a good girl who’s determined to be very bad with her older brother’s ex-best friend. In a way, the roles are reversed since it’s the heroine Amara who’s trying to tempt bad boy Eric and that made it super fun to write!

Here are my 5 favorite good girls from movies who fell in love with bad boys. I’ve also included a quote from each movie that pretty much sums up their romance.

#5: Emily from “Step Up Revolution”

Emily, the daughter of a hotel tycoon, falls for Sean, the leader of a street dance group called “The Mob.”

Telling quote: “Sometimes it’s good to break the rules.” -- Sean

#4: Jamie from “A Walk to Remember”

Quiet and shy Jamie begins a friendship with rebellious teen Landon that turns into an ill-fated love.

Telling quote: “Our love is like the wind... I can't see it, but I sure can feel it.” -- Landon

#3: Bella from “Twilight”

Bella’s love for vampire Edward could result in her death.

Telling quote: “About three things I was absolutely certain. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was part of him-and I didn't know how potent that part might be- that thirsted for my blood. and third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.” -- Bella

#2: Baby from “Dirty Dancing”

While on vacation with her family, Francis “Baby” Houseman falls in love with the resort’s dance instructor Johnny Castle.

Telling quote: “I’m scared of what I saw, I’m scared of what I did, of who I am, and most of all I’m scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life the way I feel when I’m with you.” -- Baby

And, drumroll please…

#1 is, of course, Sandy from “Grease”

Good girl Sandy falls in love with greaser Danny over one summer and are reunited when Sandy transfers to Danny’s high school.

Telling quote: “You’re a fake and a phony and I wish I never laid eyes on you” – Sandy, near the beginning of the movie.

“Tell me about it, Stud.” – Sandy, at the end of the movie.

Share your favorite “Good Girl Loves Bad Boy” movie below in the comments. But, first, here’s a little more about my new release!

About DELICIOUS TEMPTATION

The only thing naughtier than a bad boy is a good girl...

Amara Maria Robles is a good girl. So good that she gave up her dreams of becoming a renowned pastry chef to help her parents with their struggling Mexican bakery. Yet her parents reject any changes she suggests, and refuse to sell her mouth-watering confections. Clearly being a good girl isn't paying off. So when her brother's sexy ex-best friend walks into the bakery, Amara's tempted to be very bad indeed...

After a scandal twelve years ago, resident bad boy Eric Valencia has returned to make things right with his family and friends. One glance at Amara and her wicked curves, however, and Eric finds himself thinking about how she’d feel beneath him—something he promised Amara's brother he would never think about, let alone do.

But this bad boy is in deep trouble...because Amara's determined to have her cake, and Eric, too.

Re: Sabrina Sol | Why I Love Good Girls Who Love Bad Boys

I can't really say that I'm a movie watcher, but when I
asked my movie-addicted Husband your question, he had one
answer immediately!! The movie Cry Baby with Johnny Depp by
John Walters is a cult-classic of sorts. I've seen the
movie, and there are a few good spots in the movie, since I
like Johnny Depp's work, but there are parts I felt were a
little dumb. It's worth watching, though, to see Johnny
Depp in his early days of acting.
