Over the years, I tried every trick in the book. I made all the favorite dishes, I even made new ones that I thought everyone would enjoy. I made handmade gifts for people in their favorite colors. I broke the bank one year, to make it a "Merry Christmas" for them. Every year, I kept a smile on my face. As it turned out, blood was not thicker than water in my family, and I'm just as happy to just spend a quiet holiday with my Husband. After losing my Father suddenly this past April, the true colors of the rest of my family have shown through, and the only constant through all of this was me!! Instead, I have chosen to keep myself busy, read, knit and crochet for others I think are deserving, and volunteer my time teaching others how to knit and crochet!!
