Inspirational Historical

I love historical romances. I love it when the heroine has hardships to face and overcome. In marriage there are many hardships and difficulties that come our way. A prince charming is nice but committment to each other is so much better. I had a hard time getting away from feeling I needed to be a princess. I do not know how that is. Yet little things my husband does for me when I'm hurting now mean so much.
I love your books DiAnn. But fairy tales are just that. There isn't a happy always after in real life. Yet one can have a wonderful marriage and life but not taking it easy. It takes work.

I to love historical romances.. I shared that love with my GAunt who passed 2 wks before Thanksgiving this year. She gave me a journal when I was younger so I could record my stories I used to rattle off to her. She always laughed at them or cryed. She was my biggest fan.
Also she was a great source of info. Being she was born 1918 she lived through a lot of great times. Her mother my G Grandmother lived to be 103 yrs old and she also gave me great stories to remember and write about. I know thats where my love of historical romances came from. They both with my Grandmother also, loved giving me many ideas and stories of times gone by....

I think that your points are valid, although I must have had an odd childhood! lol Although I did dream about my Prince Charming, and saw the movies on the big screen, I used to take books out of the library on insects, butterflies, and birds. Those topics intrigued me to no end!! My Mother didn't give us things for dress up, although she had a few pieces of junk jewelry that we could put on from time to time. I suppose that's why I never got into romance books until later in life. Instead, I grew up with a love of the outdoors and animals just as much as a love of the male species. lol Anyway, point well taken, and your book is already on my TBR list. I had to do a report in school a long time ago about Colorado, and I read anything having to do with it. That isn't the only reason why I want to read your book, of course!! I also love to read books from that time period. I can relate to that era.

I can also remember playing prince and princess as well as western heroes and heroines. I have always loved/love history.

I love to read historical romances and other romances for escapism. It fascinates me to read about the time periods, clothes, mores, and challenges they faced or are facing. It's wonderful to have a happily ever after in a story, even though in real life there is no such thing as happily ever after.

Jane is right. It takes commitment and hard work to make a marriage work, but it is so very much worth it when you or your partner do little or big things to cheer up, make smile, or just kiss and hold each other. You/They are home and safe.

My first love were historical novels because my father and I both enjoyed history. Historicals take us away from whatever is going on in our lives at present.
Princess stories are just to fantastical. There is just so far you can suspend
disbelief. When you come up for air from a really good historical it is as if you
have taken a mini-vacation and can better face whatever you have going on.

I love historical romance but I'm always looking for an author with a different "twist" - yeah - I found you! I fell in love with historical romance and since my husband is a history "buff" we often will be reading about the same era and characters but from two entirely different views. It's fun to compare and discuss the differances. We have even combined these "viewpoints" on trips where we have visited different locations that are pertinent in different books. It can put a whole new twist on sightseeing.
