Secret Girls Fan Club

My most recent release Hot Rock is a rock star story... with a twist. It was inspired by a love of glam rock in my teens and the memories of the posters on the bedroom walls. I loved the outrageous clothes, makeup, hairstyles, and platform-soled boots. The flamboyant lyrics, costumes, and visual styles of glam performers appealed to me with the wonderful guitar sounds and the rock stars who produced them.

David Bowie was my hero, David Essex gave me the delicious shivers, Peter Frampton’s voice and lyrics made me tremble and Bruce Springsteen...well everyone knows why he is such an amazing rock star. Don’t they? So I based my hero on all of them and...

Can you imagine my amazement when I was contacted by the closed Face Book group- the David Essex Girls Club to join them. One of their members had read Hot Rock and it reminded her of David Essex!
