1--What is the title of your latest release?

THE QUEEN’S MAN is out March 15.

2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?

After years of longing, a change in power may allow Queen Giabella of Athawick to finally act on her feelings for her longtime secretary, Dashiell Talbot.

3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?

The series, Regency Royals, is about a fictional royal family who come to London to match the eldest daughter for political purposes. So the first two books take place in London, the final three in the island country of Athawick.

4--Would you hang out with your heroine in real life?

Giabella is smart and kind and progressive, she’d be awesome to hang out with!

5--What are three words that describe your hero?

Serious, responsible, smoking hot

6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?

I’m not sure I really learned anything. I’ve been doing this for a long time, so I’m pretty solid in my writing and with my settings. I did love writing an older couple though (both over 50).

7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?

I edit after I draft. I’m a very head down author.

8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?

I’m a big fan of sushi, it’s often my food reward for releases or other milestones.

9--Describe your writing space/office!

My office is at the front of the house with a window that looks out on the street. I have my main desk facing the window and then a return desk to the side for prep work and for when I used to podcast. I also have two big bookshelves.

10--Who is an author you admire?

I admire so many authors. Beverly Jenkins is a trailblazer and no-nonsense, plus she’s so gracious and kind. I admire Katee Robert because she’s full of ideas and never seems scared to try new things. I admire Becca Syme because she’s always encouraging authors to be themselves and embrace their own uniqueness. I could go on forever! LOL

11--Is there a book that changed your life?

My first indie book, THE OTHER DUKE, changed my life. It was when I made the full turn toward being entirely indie published and it lit the spark to so much success and happiness.

12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)

My “call” was from Avon back in 2004. I actually wrote a really long post about this in February. My agent called and asked me who I’d wanted to published with the most, and I said Avon. She said I’d just sold two books to them. And I think I told her that lying wasn’t funny. LOL

13--What’s your favorite genre to read?

I write and love historical romance. I also love a menage, historical or contemporary. When done well.

14--What’s your favorite movie?

So hard to answer that. It really depends on the genre and my mood.

15--What is your favorite season?

I like autumn. Still warm, leaves changes, not too miserable yet.

16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?

My amazing husband does birthday week for me. I get a small gift and card every day. Then we usually do a bigger celebration of the real day, go to dinner. Again, if we can travel, we do (one birthday we were in Scotland).

17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?

I’ve been a huge fan of The Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett series on Disney+. I’m also a huge Ted Lasso fan.

18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?

Too many to pick from, I love sushi, Thai, a good burger. It’s all what mood I’m in.

19--What do you do when you have free time?

I don’t get a lot of free time, but I play video games, take walks with the dog and my husband and travel when it’s safe.

20--What can readers expect from you next?

My next book is my 100th book! It’s out May 10 and will be available for preorder on March 16. Actually, I’ve been doing a HUGE countdown on all my social media to the 100th book, you can follow @jessmichaelsbks on any social media platform (FB, Twitter, Insta) and win prizes, get sneak peeks, etc!

THE QUEEN'S MAN by Jess Michaels

Regency Royals #5

The Queen's Man

The final book in the Regency Royals series by USA TODAY Bestselling Author Jess Michaels.
Queen Giabella of Athawick should be happy. Her children are all married and in love, her land is at last at peace and she’s about to have more freedom than she’s experienced in her whole life. And yet she’s…restless. Only one man has been able to settle her during times of trouble: her longtime personal secretary, Dashiell Talbot. So when they’re asked to do a tour of Athawick to celebrate their upcoming democratic elections, she knows she’ll be well taken care of. And she agrees.

Dash has served his queen for a decade and it has been the joy of his life. And the challenge, considering all he ever wants to do is touch her. But that is not his place and he has always been able to control himself before, nothing will be different now.

Except that Gia is starting to have trouble controlling her own desires and everything that has been hidden, suppressed, denied is about to bubble to the surface with an explosion of powerful passion. Will they be able to find a path to a real future? Or will the past keep them apart once again?

Heat Level: A passion worth waiting for!

About Jess Michaels

Jess Michaels

Jess Michaels always flips through every romance she buys in search of 'the good stuff', so it makes perfect sense that she writes erotic romance where she gets to turn up the heat on that good stuff and let it boil. She loves alpha males, long haired cats (and short haired ones), the last breath right before a passionate kiss and the color purple (not the movie… though that's excellent, too, the actual color). She also firmly believes that Cadbury Cream Eggs should be available all year round and not count against any diet.
