    Romance Contemporary

Jane Day is on the run from the paid assassin who had been her fiancé. In Wichita Falls, Texas, she meets Nellie Luckadeau, a spitfire of an old lady who desperately needs someone to work on her ranch. But Nellie's drop-dead gorgeous grandson "Lucky Slade" is sure he can spot a con artist a mile away. He's determined not to let some upstart like Jane fleece his granny.

When his signature intimidation methods don't convince Jane to leave, he pours on the charm to make her spill what she's up to. She's happy to play along, but she's not going to let this hot, hostile cowboy run her off his land when all she needs is a lucky break...

Wow, I haven't read any of these yet but after reading that interview, I'm hooked. Can't wait for them to arrive!

    Hello everyone,
Thanks for having me on your site today. It's a pleasure to be here to introduce you to Ellacyn Hayes, aka Jane Day. Happy reading!

Great interview. Jane Day has a neat sense of humor and sounds like an all round good character in the book. I'd love to read the "Lucky" books. Thanks.

OMG! Could a book cover be any hotter! As for Jane Day eating all that food and not gaining a pound, I am totally jealous! How amazing it is to loose yourself in a good book!

I'm glad that Jane found someone who didn't hurt women - it's a sad day when women come to expect being hurt by the onew who are supposed to protect them!

Carolyn, what a great idea for an interview. I LOVED IT!!! I hate to say I have not read your books but they sure are on my list now..that is why I am here on the web sites//to find new authors. I retired and have more time to read books so I want to see what I have been missing and you are one great author I am sorry I missed all these years. I sure hope to make it up and I love western style romance so much. The closest thing I could find to a real cowboy was a country boy but I guess he was my cup of tea as we just celebrated 46 years together as man and wife. I think it will last!!! ha ha Have a good day. susan leech

    Hello again,
A little inside trader's note! LOL! Doubleday Book Club, Rhapsody Book Club and Book of the Month Club are all offering the books, too. So if you are a member of any of those you can find them there! They've bought the exclusive rights to reprint in hardback. Ali, it was great talking to you on Sunday.

I'm going book shopping tomorrow (the stores will be closed by thr time I got there tonight). Your book is on my list. I loved the interview with Jane Day. I got a chuckle out of it. Jane must be a real pistol. Oh, by the way, I'm no relation to Jane even if we have the same last name (Ha Ha).

I know a book is great when I find myself
laughing like a fool when I'm by myself.
It is a joy to find one of those, they are
just too rare. We all need more
    opportunities to laugh.
    (
    Patricia Barraclough 12:23pm November 6)

Sounds like the female character has a firm grip on the important things in life. Any story told with humor is sure to be a winner! And yes, I think we Texans have big hearts and are truly blessed with a generous dose of humor.
    (
    Susan Driskill 12:31pm November 6)

Pls count me in - I have Book 1 on my tbr - it is in very good company. Love series books!
    (
    Pat Lieberman 6:46am November 6)

That was great idea. It made the character come alive for me. Thanks
    (
    Theresa Buckholtz 12:55pm November 6)

Hey thanks for keeping in character. Interviews told from the point of view of main characters help me glean a lot of background and further discovery of motivation, intention and sometimes revenge.

    Alyson Widen 5:34pm November 6)

I finished reading One Lucky Coowboy today and it is one of the most exhilerating books that I have read lately. It has comments that will make you hold your sides with laughter and others that will make you sigh and bring a tear to your eye. Very well written and attention grapper and holder. Excellent read.
    (
    Diana Smith 4:59pm November 7)

    Hi Carolyn
This character sounds delightful and I can't imagine why I haven't read any of your books before. I'm looking for your previous books as well.
