Re: Ice Cold (10:09pm July 18, 2010):

Hey that housework wasn't going anywhere! How exciting for you, Sandi - I'm thrilled that you were able to go!

I've been fortunate enough to meet many, many authors, but those I would love to meet are Alison Kent, Jill Shalvis and as Ray said, Suzanne Forster.

Have fun at RWA, Sandi!

Re: Blown Away (8:06pm May 30, 2010):

I typically read them as soon as they're available, and then try to be patient in waiting for the next one(s)!

Re: Down By The River (8:37am January 25, 2010):

I think I tend to read more stand alones than series. A series is more attractive to me, most of the time, if it's limited to three or four books - sometimes when they go on and on, they start to take on too many similarities.

Interesting topic and comments!

Re: The Promise (10:27pm October 11, 2009):

Sandi, I have shelves and shelves of older books that I like to go back to for comfort reading. At the same time, my TBR stacks (and stacks) are an interesting mix of faves and new to me authors. If only I had more time!

As for getting older, let's just not talk about it, ok? lol You're only as old as you feel.

Re: Lucky Break (9:08am October 7, 2009):

Hi Sandi! Better late than never, right? I typically spread my time between reading and household chores, but this past weekend ended up sneaking in more reading time to finish UNLEASHED, the third book in Jami Alden's "Gemini Men" series. Heavens, did I ever love this series. Sadly, now that I've rushed to finish it, there's a bit of a letdown going on.

Now I have some housework to make up for as the week goes on!

Re: Table Manners (5:34pm September 7, 2009):

I hope you've enjoyed your Labor Day, Sandi! Our day has been very low-key. Went to the grocery before they closed early and am grilled out for dinner. Sadly, I have to pick out something to wear to work tomorrow. At least it's a short week, right?

Re: The Fixer Upper (9:52pm August 23, 2009):

My family and friends don't share my interest in romance, but they wholeheartedly support my interest. Hub always asks if I need anything from the bookstore when we're near the mall and my daughters ask if there are any books I want if they're going shopping w/out me.

I don't try to read what we're told we should. I like what I like. Period. And that's what I'm going to stick with!

Great topic, Sandi!

Re: Smash Cut (1:40pm August 18, 2009):

Sorry to be late again, Sandi! Fun topic. I have dozens of books that I re-read. I've been culling my bookcases of those books that I'll never read again and have been a little surprised at how many I'm just not ready to part with.

Re: Hot Pursuit (4:06pm August 4, 2009):

I don't frequent my library as much as I used to, but my daughter is a library fanatic. I find that many of the paperback romance authors that I enjoy aren't carried by the library - I donate all of my books to the library after reading so they can either put them in the paperback section or sell them at the annual Friends of the Library sale. Hopefully someone with tastes similar to mine will be able to read them for free.

Our library has always had a voluntary fine jar for late books - I can see that changing very soon, given the cuts that are being made.

I did recently write to my state reps to encourage their support of libraries.

Re: Mackenzie's Legacy (10:43pm July 26, 2009):

I couldn't get enough of Stephanie Laurens' Cynster family, but somehow missed out on the last few books in the series - you've prompted me to get my hands on them! I might have to do a refresher reread of the others first!

Fun topic, Sandi!

Re: A Thread Of Truth (1:58pm June 21, 2009):

I do some reading/critiquing for a number of authors and tend to look a little closer than I should at books I'm reading for pleasure. A minimal amount of typos don't pull me out of a story, but when they're numerous, I start to think about how they should have been caught, etc.

Interesting subject, Sandi! I'm not familiar with Marie Bostwick, but am intrigued by her work - love the cover on A THREAD OF TRUTH!

Re: The Red Pony (8:27pm June 8, 2009):

Pitifully, I can't remember many of the books I "had" to read in high school. I do remember 1984 and thought it was creepy, read the Janis Joplin story and found it absolutely heartbreaking - it also gave me an appreciation for her music that I've passed on to one of my daughters.

Interesting subject, Sandi - as always!

Re: Pretty in Plaid (10:25pm May 18, 2009):

As evidenced by the lateness of my comment here, I'm hardly on time for anything! Fun comments!

Re: Comfort Food (9:34am May 4, 2009):

I typically have review books stacked in the order in which they need to be reviewed, but occasionally will sneak an irresistible book in between them for a hasty read. Sometimes I'll grab a series or two at the grocery store and can't resist taking a peek - which of course leads to finishing. Thank heavens they're quick reads!

Re: Behind The Shadows (8:55pm April 26, 2009):

My trips to the bookstore take planning because it isn't terribly close, so my bouts of retail therapy aren't especially spontaneous! I do love the good feeling that comes with a good bargain though!

Re: The Accidental Human (12:41pm April 13, 2009):

I like the cover models to resemble the characters in the book and admit to occasionally buying books b/c of the cover, although I typically read the back cover first. Sometimes a cover catches my attention, which makes me pick it up to read the back cover.

Re: The Accidental Human (8:57pm March 29, 2009):

Sounds like you've been having a pretty good time, Sandi!

As for romantic suspense recommendations (I'm not a paranormal fan) Donna's list has many of my favorites - Cherry Adair is another - one of the absolute best romantic suspense series (imo) is Pamela Clare's, with three books so far and a fourth coming in the next few months. I truly think you'll be pleased with them - let me know if you try them!

Re: Summer On Blossom Street (9:38pm March 8, 2009):

What an interesting topic, Sandi - and not something I've really thought about before. Now I'll be thinking . . .

Re: Obama (3:33pm January 19, 2009):

Hey Sandi! I've read a handful of biographies and autobiographies, but not so many recently. I guess I just prefer fiction. I was at the mall over the weekend and there was one entire display devoted to Obama biographies - I was surprised at how many there were. I'm certain there are many more to come.

Interesting topic, as always!

Re: Smoke Screen (8:12pm January 12, 2009):

Hey Sandi!

I will buy backlist books if they interest me. I don't glom them without checking them out completely.

Great blog, as always!

Re: Thread of Fear (10:06pm January 4, 2009):

Great blog as always, Sandi! I've never made reading resolutions before. Frankly, I don't make resolutions at all, but do hope to take better care of myself physically and try to lose some of the stress in my life in the coming year. I suppose that could lead to more reading time if done properly!

Happy New Year, Sandi - I hope it's a great one!!

Hugs to you!

Re: A Virgin River Christmas (9:43pm October 26, 2008):

Great blog, Sandi! The only time I'll buy a book I've already read is if the one I read was an arc.
