Valentine Love

My boyfriend was stationed in Afghanistan and had been away for almost a year. He was due back February 1 for his two week leave, but at the last minute it was canceled and he was also extended for another 6 months! I admit that my heart broke and instead of loving all the fun and love of Valentine's Day, I began to dread it. What was worse was that I worked in a flower shop and saw dozens and dozens of men come in to order flowers and girlfriends and thousands of roses go out for delivery. It was almost closing time when we got a phone delivery. The person who delivered the flowers had already left for the last delivery and my manager (who had been with me since 4 that morning) asked me to take it. I decided to do it as I knew she was in a hurry to have a romantic dinner with her husband. It was a delivery to a base house so I had to go to the front gate.

As I got there someone in a uniform came out of the SP guard shack with a giant bouquet of roses. He lowered the roses and there in front of me was my boyfriend!! As he handed me the roses he said "will you marry me?"

That was 5 years ago and he still melts my heart every time I see him.
