* * *
Maggie thought she was married to an earl . . . but it seems that her late and unlamented husband lied to her from the day they met. Now—penniless and stranded in London—she has thrown herself on the mercy of the real Lord Warwick. What's a counterfeit countess to do?
Edward, the Earl of Warwick, desires only to get rid of the beautiful woman who arrived at his house with no less than fourteen trunks, a younger sister, a maid, and a very large cat. Her preposterous explanation is of no importance—but her late husband held the clue to the identity of England's greatest traitor, a clue the Foreign Service must get at any cost. Edward will have to guard her night and day—but he cannot guard his heart.

Re: Counterfeit Countess

I don't mind having a little bit of humor in my Historical
Romances, especially if they're English, no offense. This
is why. After a while, the dialogue tends to get a bit
droll at times, and a bit of humor in the right spots
would tend to lighten things up a bit. This would also
depend on what type of book it is. That means whether or
not the book would support a bit of humor or not. I've
read books that were absolutely dreadful, and could have
used at least a couple lines of humor to break them up a
little here and there!! It's nice that you are concerned
enough to ask your readers for their opinion. I'm looking
forward to reading your book, since I wasn't in the loop
the first go-around.

It is so nice that you are concerned about the readers and
ask their opinion. I have read alot of dry books that went
on and on and could of used a bit of laughs a few times and
it would of made the book better. Love your books and look
forward to your writing as you do now!

Thank you, Peggy.

I love humor in romance! I also have to be able to
empathize with the hero and heroine, and for them to have a
romantic love story.

Use of Humour, applied appropriately, is good and it adds to make the book or story line more human and sometimes humane...keep up the great work!
