Melody Kaufman

avid reader - at least 3/5 books per week - If I can say I have read 10,000+ books before I die, I will feel I have made a major accomplishment. Favorite authors are Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Ernest Hemingway, Ridley Pearson, Linda Fairstein, James Carlos Blake, Stephen King, Douglas Preston, Lincoln Child, Lisa Scottoline, David Baldacci, Joe Hill, and a great number of new authors I am discovering, Oh, and lest I forget, lol....Stephen King! There are just so many great authors and great books, and so little time to get swept away! I love to cook & bake and am always looking to try new recipes. Spending time with my grandchildren always brings a smile to my face. They will never want for a book - it has always been the one thing I have never said no to. When they are here, before nap time and bedtime is always book time. If they ask me to read...I find the time! Books open up your world.....they bring joy, sadness, fright, love, anger, envy, lust, knowledge, closeness, and so much more. They are the best escape from a sometimes very scary, lonely world, and they teach us many things if we open up our minds. I am certainly not perfect, I would never profess to be, but I think I am a good person with a kind heart and an open mind. If I have impacted just one person in my life in a positive way I have done a remarkable thing!

Nice interview.

Re: Kill Devil (2:54am June 20, 2016):

Nicely put Mike and I especially like what you said at the end: Evil is necessary in fiction because without evil, there can be no good to conquer it. Without darkness, there can be no light to dispel it. Without death, there can be no celebration of life.

Re: Romancing the Ranger (9:21pm March 22, 2016):

lol, Reese sounds like a woman after my own heart. I have been trying to deal with "separation anxiety" for quite a few years now. I was married to the love of my life (for 32 years), had 3 beautiful daughters (who are now in their 30's and finally pumping out grandkids), but as time went by, I grew up, but my husband didn't. He forgot that "sex, drugs and rock and roll" was our past routine and I finally had to cut the chord. It has now been 3 years (today as a matter of fact) since our divorce and I am still feeling like I am floundering. Maybe Reese has some answers for me...or, at least some distraction!

Re: Best Friends with Benefits (9:10pm March 22, 2016):

I used to be married to my best friend, and I had lots of "benefits", but then our lives took a turn and we divorced...such is life. We were of the era of "sex, drugs and rock and roll"...one of us grew up...one of us didn't! I have since turned into a hermitess and would like to know what "7 minutes in Heaven" is like again. Maybe if I win this I will be feeling angelic by the end!

Re: Miriam (9:03pm March 22, 2016):

lol, my name is Melody and people have been whispering and shouting my name all my life! And yes, like many before me, I have had a Miriam in my life. Not for some time, as she passed some time ago, but I have some very fond memories of family times together. This sounds like a very entertaining novel and I welcome the chance to win it and reflect upon those days gone by with my Aunt Miriam and Uncle Curry. Thank you.

Re: The Lingering Grace (8:56pm March 22, 2016):

I have not read The Looking Glass, and yes, tomorrow may suck, but this looks like a captivating read!
