Re: Lord of the Sea (8:03pm February 19, 2014):

I really should at least learn to sail, I do so love stories with this theme!

Re: The Autumn Bride (9:20pm January 31, 2013):

I used to belong to a book club, it did tend to be just as you describe. A bit
overly analytical for me, so now I just read on my own.

Re: The Fangover (6:03pm November 12, 2012):

When it comes to music, it only works when I
read historicals, because my classical piano
lessons mean I can hum a gavotte or minutes if
there is a ball. I am less certain about those
"country dances" because they are never
specified.
I also played organ, and J S Bach's has great
pieces to hear in my head while reading vampire
books.
Modern romances are mostly music lessons for me.
Sexy music has always been something on the
violin, but that is undoubtedly because my
husband was a decent amateur violinist. Now he
is too ill to play, but in my imagination, he
woos me with Brahms.

Re: Charming Blue (11:39pm September 21, 2012):

You do have the guts to take on stories - characters - that
others don't touch. I like the idea of revisiting Bluebeard.

Re: Tangle Of Need (10:55pm May 28, 2012):

I don't have a favorite character to follow, but I do love
that part of this series. I am now rereading "Mine to
Possess" by listening to it as an audiobook. I like to read
the ebook the first time around, because I read fast - but
books I really like, I enjoy listening to a second time
around. Slow, but very nice with a good reader.

Re: Waking Up Dead (10:10pm November 26, 2011):

I have gravitated between some of the same authors you have read. Sometimes "light and humerous" is just what I need. Other times, more angst. But I do love paranormal, of whatever stripe.

Re: The Spy Who Left Me (9:49pm November 26, 2011):

I am finishing an interim position tomorrow, and will be taking December off. My first grandchild is due in a couple weeks, but as the paternal grandmother, I'm not going to be going to visit until a few weeks after the birth. So inbetween getting the house clean and ready for the holidays, I will read. And read.

Re: The Norse King's Daughter (7:46pm September 30, 2011):

I don't get in slumps often, but if I do, I have a couple of ways out. The obvious: switch genre, or subgenre. I mostly read historical romances, but an occasional Harlequin Presents (usually 3-4) works. Or I listen to an audio book. THe great narrators can make even books I have read before get me reading again. Of course, there is (as you point out) the back list of favorites. I love Sharon Lee & Steve Miller's Liaden, and just reread all of them in Augest when they published their latest.

Re: The Cowboy From Christmas Past (10:39pm October 26, 2009):

I remember The Long Winter: it
was when I started to find the
series irresistible.

Re: Beloved Vampire (3:05pm August 17, 2009):

I've finished Beloved Vampire,
and it was a treat! I
definitely most enjoyed seeing
how you could make a dominant
vampire be gentle with
Jessica. And what it took him
to commit to her.

Re: Seduce Me (5:16pm July 29, 2009):

Those 12 steps of intimacy -
fascinating. I found myself
stepping into a scene with
those, one by one.
