Agoraphobic Daisy Little has spent the last eight years of her life trapped inside her house. With little to do but watch the comings and goings of the neighbors around her. Daisy knows just about everything about them. That's why when she sees someone coming out of a house that's supposed to be empty, carrying a suspicious bundle on his shoulder, Daisy knows something isn't right, even though the person is driving a police vehicle. Determined to figure out what's going on, Daisy turns to her best friend for help.
Deputy Chris Jennings has been in love with Daisy for years but guilt over her mother's death has kept Chris from moving out of the friends zone. When Daisy tells him about the activity she's been seeing next door, Chris tells the police chief about it, unknowingly setting off a chain reaction that puts Daisy's life on the line. Now, with the help of his friends, Chris is going to have to figure out who is behind the killings and fires that have plagued his town before Daisy is silenced forever.
IN SAFE HANDS, the last book in Katie Ruggle's Search and Rescue series, has a lot going on it. Things start off with a bang, and a body, and the action doesn't let up until the very end. I love that all the threads that have continued through the series are finally tied up with this book and we get all the answers we've been waiting for. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series from start to finish and couldn't read IN SAFE HANDS fast enough. I don't want to spoil who the villain is for anyone who hasn't started reading this series but if you love romantic suspense that's full of lots of action and a great mystery, you have to read these books.
Ruggle gives readers a treat by bringing back everyone from the previous books to take down the villain. We get to catch up with all our favorite couples while we enjoy the slow build of Daisy and Chris's romance. Ruggle writes a well crafted book and series which had me hooked all the way through. Though it looks like this series has come to an end with IN SAFE HANDS, Ruggle thankfully has another series on the way. Unfortunately we have to wait until June 2017 for it, so let the anticipation start building.
