Romance Contemporary

Anticipating the launch of a new reality TV show Haley "H.B." McKay arrives at the O'Donnell Horse Ranch in Ringgold, Texas. Haley will be sidekick to Dewar O'Donnell, the trail boss, to reenact the Chisholm Trail from Texas to the final destination at Dodge City, Kansas. Sporting a herd of 99 cows and 1 testy bull complete with horns, the crew consists of 6 rowdy cowhands. Haley hadn't counted on a gorgeous, tall cowboy to spend the next 30 days on the trail with. Both Haley and Dewar are shocked at the instant heat they feel towards each other, especially since Dewar had expected H.D. to be a man.

Starting out as a sophisticated, strictly city woman, complete with stilettos, suit and attitude, bets are staked Haley won't last a week. Haley can't believe the station owner, Carl Levy, her father, has sent her to suffer this fate of hardship. Being of better stock than anyone thought with ½ Cajun heritage, Haley faces a blistered bottom, sunburn, wild meals, snakes, coyotes, unwashed body and only bare necessities, but has a hide tougher than anyone suspects. Befriending Eeyore, a donkey, she is followed every step as he designates himself her protector. The saving grace is the fierce hot body response between Haley and Dewar, with neither seeing a happy ending for them with two totally opposite backgrounds. Can Dewar give up the country life he loves and can Haley give up her prestigious life in Dallas for a forever love?

Carolyn Brown is extremely gifted in creating this cute and humorous tale of a city girl gone country. The many hilarious antics throughout the tale leaves you waiting for the next surprise to fall. The gutsy heroine is so exciting in her responses to every turn of events through the 30 day cattle run that it keeps you smiling and laughing all the way through the read. COWBOY SEEKS BRIDE is a great entertaining read that will not be soon forgotten. It is a super read that I absolutely loved!

SUMMARY

He's tough as nails and ready to ride...

Rancher Dewar O'Donnell is a just an old-fashioned cowboy at heart, and he can't wait to reenact the historic Chisholm Trail ride with his buddies. The trial-run cattle drive for a reality TV show sounds like a great time—until H.B. McKay pulls up in her slick red sports car...

She's way out of her element...

Haley McKay is a feisty, high-powered businesswoman with the power suit and stiletto heels to prove it. She's keen to research her company's hot new idea for a reality TV show—but mount up with a bunch of modern-day cowboys? Are they kidding? It's too late to back out now, so Haley sets out to prove that it will take more than snakes, storms, and stampedes to make her back down.

Besides, sleeping under the stars with Dewar O'Donnell could prove mighty interesting...

Loved it! Anything Carolyn does is wonderful!

First thing I think of when I think of city folk on a cattle
drive is the movie "City Slickers" with Billy Crystal. That
was a very funny movie - and there wasn't any romance. I
would think COWBOY SEEKS BRIDE would also bring laughter to
my mouth, and maybe tears to my eyes, as the city girl shows
them all what she's made of. Go, Carolyn Brown!
