Sex, Alcohol, and Rock N Roll!! Oh, and did I mention, sex?
BACKSTAGE PASS is an erotic foray into the behind the
scenes world of a heavy metal band. Myrna Evans, professor
of psychology specializing in human sexuality, stumbles upon
the members of Sinners, drunk and not quite disorderly, in a
hotel bar. As a fan, she is immediately drawn to Brain
"Master" Sinclair, awesome lead guitarist. She wonders if
those hands are as magical in the bedroom as they are on
stage. It doesn't take her long to figure out the answer is
a resounding yes. In the process, Myrna becomes his muse
and a genuine relationship starts to form.
Olivia Cunning has created intriguing characters and a Rock
N Roll world that feels genuine. The band behaves as you
would expect— a lot earthly, a little raunchy, and very
sexy. The sex is frequent, explicit, and creative. This
book is not for the faint of heart, but fans of erotica will
find it entertaining. The only discordant note is a minor
subplot involving Myrna's abusive ex-husband who made her
feel "dirty" because of her sexuality. I thought the
conflict was unnecessary and pulled the reader out of the
Rock N Roll fantasy. The story is at its best when it
focuses on a woman testing the boundaries of her sexuality
while trying to build a relationship with a touring rock
star.
Human Sexuality Professor, Myrna Evans, wants nothing but a
weekend of hot, no-strings-attached sex with Sinners'
sensual lead guitarist, but Brian Sinclair is looking for
something more permanent than a one-night stand. Unable to
compose music for months, when Brian makes love to
uninhibited Myrna, he hears exquisite guitar riffs and
finger-burning solos. In Myrna, he's found his muse.
