Re: Double Time

I enjoy music of all kinds but there is something very sweet and pure about the strum of a classic guitar. Looking forward to reading about your music making.
Good luck and happy writing!

Yes, I do love rock and roll but also love christian music
and salsa music and some country and grew up with dancing to
disco beat music. I am very versatile and truly love all
kinds of beats of music that is upbeat and gets me inspired
to write and dance and be carefree with life too. Thanks,
Cecilia CECE

Although my love of music genres is in constant flux classical guitar has remained a favorite. "Dueling Banjo's" is a part of my playlist that I often listen to while hiking. Strange? Probably so.

(
Pam Howell 10:17am November 30, 2012)

I have a very eclectic taste in music. I will listen to just about anything but hardcore rap. I will say that my favorite music is bands rather then just singers. There is something about the corroboration and teamwork that goes in to making the music that makes it better!

I grew up the unmusical child in a very musical family so I got every musical reference in Olivia's books. My mom plays piano and sings, my brother is a drummer and my dad plays both 6 string and 12 string guitar in addition to singing. They all write music and have can hear a song and instantly play it. Me nada!

Thanks so much!

So glad to see so many music fans here!

I had a 10-year dry spell starting in the mid-90s when I
didn't listen to much music. Then my son got interested in
music and rekindled my absolute love. I regret the years of
silence, but am glad he brought music back into my life.

I'm a fan of pretty much everything, though I've never really
been able to get into country all that much. Right now, I will
say that I'm into a more of an indie rock vibe but it changes
daily.

Danielle Gorman 11:30am November 30, 2012)

I like all kinds of music from african lullabys to instrumentals. at the moment I listen to a lot of soft rock and rock, or music I can easily fall asleep to. I do love Acoustic guitars in songs though!!!!

Aretha Harvey 11:40am November 30, 2012)

There is a good blues series - Leaving Trunk Blues, Crossroad Blues etc. by Ace Atkins. It's a crime series but blues lovers will rave about it. Shows the seedy and exploitative side of the business though.
(
Clare O'Beara 12:15pm November 30, 2012)

I love my country, but I do listen to other kinds.

(
Kathleen Yohanna 1:39pm November 30, 2012)

I am very ecletic in my love of music. My ex husband played rhythm and lead. It took me about a year to figure all the differences. I think that in most music that I like I follow the bass - rock, jazz - the bass has a certain sound that allows you to find the beat (even if there are no drums or it has a seperate beat). Dueling riffs can be a lot of fun to hear and listen to, I am glad that I got my education and know I will enjoy your book.
(
Carla Carlson 2:27pm November 30, 2012)

As we grow our taste in music changes...mine certainly has.
But I still like background music more than drown-out-
everything-else music.
(
Mary Hay 2:45pm November 30, 2012)

I love all types of music and don't have a favorite genre. I listen to it according to what I'm in the mood for. Guitars play a roll in a lot of the music I listen to.
(
Leni Kaye 2:46pm November 30, 2012)

I definitely love metal! I love most of the bands that you post weekly on your
blog, Olivia, and I even found my daughter's new favorite band on there too- Rev
Theory! Thanks for the great music, and for keeping us entertained with your

Music is fine with me as long as there's no screaming and it helps to be able to figure out the words. Right now I like pop and music related to movies.

Shelby S 8:45pm November 30, 2012)

I like all different kinds of music and depends on the mood I am in at the time.
(
Pam Griffith 9:23pm November 30, 2012)

Most of the time I listen to light rock, but my music changes with my moods. I've been known to put on classical at times as well as acoustical guitar, which I love as well. I'll even listen to country, although mostly some of the music from about 10 years ago, before it went to a rock sound. About the only music I can't take is rap, because I wasn't raised with it. I was actually raised with Motown and Rock and Roll, and played the cello and flute. As I said, my tastes are varied, as my moods change. I'd love to read your book, because I'd find it a fun read. It sounds like you really go into a lot of detail, and I'll get a musical refresher course in the process!!
(
Peggy Roberson 10:30pm November 30, 2012)
