Romance Historical

After their strategic “marriage of commerce” three years ago, Rule quite forgot about Violet Griffin, the teenage heiress to a Boston manufacturing fortune. He simply spoke his vows, took over her father’s business and returned to England to resume his usual pursuits: high-priced wine, high-stakes gambling and high-born women.

Yet when Violet, now a sophisticated woman, unexpectedly appears at Rule's London townhouse, husbandly duties no longer seem so odious—he can't wait to take his stunning bride to their marriage bed. Violet, however, is not so easily led: she has her own ideas and is seeking an annulment to marry another. But as Rule attempts to win her over, someone else is determined to frame him for murder and keep him out of the way for good...

I enjoy reading romances where the course of true love has a few roadblocks and detours. This trilogy is on my list of summer reads.
(

(
Kat Martin 10:54am April 23, 2010)

I look forward to reading the trilogy. Which of the three brides do you most closely identify with, and which one did you have the most fun writing?
(

Marjorie Carmony 1:26pm April 23, 2010)

I've gotten addicted to paranormal romances but these stories have me intrigued enough to take a break from the paranormal! If you wrote these stories half as well as your post & information then these will prove to be wonderful reads! I look forward to reading them all!
(
Dawn Detkowski 2:36pm April 23, 2010)

Three bride stories in a row, count me in.
(
Alyson Widen 3:00pm April 23, 2010)

I'm always addicted to triology series. They are shorter than the series and easier to complete for my book collection whereas series just keep going and going. But I still love your books.
(
Kai Wong 3:01pm April 23, 2010)

Kat, I have a lot of your books, but haven't read the Brides trilogy yet. Really looking forward to reading them all. I love trilogies, and especially Historical ones.
(
Cathy Phillips 3:08pm April 23, 2010)

The Brides trilogy sounds wonderful and I need to start this right away.
(
Armenia Fox 3:13pm April 23, 2010)

This sounds like a very fun series and the covers are just lovely.
(

Wow! What an amazing bunch of gals you are! I am thrilled that you are enjoying my books and I am really excited that some of you who haven't read me are going to give the Bride's books a try.
(
Kat Martin 4:30pm April 23, 2010)

GS Wanted to say that I liked each of the ladies, who were strong and sexy, but Violet had a little extra special something. She was smart and feisty. She was my favorite to write.
(
Kat Martin 4:32pm April 23, 2010)

Congrats on the upcoming release, Kat. I'm looking forward to your Brides Trilogy.
(
Jane Cheung 5:13pm April 23, 2010)

The Bride Series will be an absolute pleasure. I just know this!!
(
Mary Preston 5:34pm April 23, 2010)

Waiting for Rule's story. Absolutely loved Reese's story.
(
Maude Allen 5:58pm April 23, 2010)

I am looking forward to this book. I loved Royal's Bride.
(
Deb H. 6:24pm April 23, 2010)

thanks so much. sounds like a lot of you have read either one or both of the first two books. I think this is one of my best series and readers seem to be enjoying. I've got a question...do any of you ladies read Contemporary Romantic Suspense? I've got a new trilogy out the first of the year. I'm hoping historical readers will give the Raines Brothers a try.
(
Kat Martin 7:12pm April 23, 2010)

Love your books - but I hate blogging - but I do it so that I could win one of your wonderful book(s). Thank you for the contest!
(
Cilfton Wade 8:16pm April 23, 2010)

Hope to read this book soon,Thank you.
(
Deb Pelletier 8:41pm April 23, 2010)

I don't read much historical romance though I have seen yours at the bookstore.
(
Diane Sadler 9:04pm April 23, 2010)

These books look great - can't wait to read them! Thanks!
(
Cheryl Snyder 10:24pm April 23, 2010)

Love your books, Kat. The first of
yours that I read were PERFECT SIN
and WICKED PROMISE. I still have
more of yours on my TBR shelf. I
think what I like most about your
heroes is that they are not always the
nicest people. Their goodness comes
out in the story, but it takes a while
for it to work its way to the surface.
No pretty boy nice guys so far in what
I've read. Your characters are always
complex and the plots have many
twists and turns. This series sounds
good. I'll definitely be looking for it.
(
Patricia Barraclough 11:06pm April 23, 2010)

Wow... a triple play, and such a wonderful sounding series. I just got done reading a triple series about brides, so it would be great to be able to make a series about grooms the next on my list.
(
Donna Holmberg 11:17pm April 23, 2010)

That's a hint... can your next series be about grooms rather than brides?
(
Donna Holmberg 11:18pm April 23, 2010)

Love the bride theme. Alas all weddings aren't as expected and can make for some interesting variations. Yours sound delightful.
(
Gladys Paradowski 12:27pm April 24, 2010)

HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS LAST BOOK IN YOUR TRILOGY. LOVED THE FIRST TWO! YOU DO WRITE "GREAT READS"!!
(
Jean Merriott 1:51am April 24, 2010)

I am definatly going to get these!!!

[email protected]
(
Brandy Blake 3:22am April 24, 2010)

I have always enjoyed your book. They move along quickly, are funny and heartwarming. Your characters are believable though they are awfully young (getting older here)LOL! Your books move at a fast past and hold my attention. I read Reese's Bride and plan to read the others. American West would be a nice change from Regency England though. Keep on keeping on!
(
Joyce Corbin 9:00am April 24, 2010)

Wow! lots of great comments today! In a way, these are grooms books, since the three Dewar brothers are all the sons of a duke. From here though, for you contemporary readers, Three Romantic Suspense books out Jan, Feb, March of next year, the Raines brothers trilogy. Against the Wind, Against the Fire, Against the Law. I absolutely loved writing these so am hoping my readers will gie them at try.
(
Kat Martin 1:26pm April 24, 2010)

P.S. Thanks to you all for your very wonderful words about my books! hope you continue to enjoy! kat
(
Kat Martin 1:28pm April 24, 2010)

Your books are always so wonderful.
(
Theresa Norris 3:56pm April 24, 2010)

I haven't read your books but would love to. The brides series sounds wonderful!

(
Brenda Rupp 11:02pm April 24, 2010)

your books are so great to read can't wait to get them.
(
Stacey Smith 11:29pm April 24, 2010)

I'm looking forward to picking up this
series!
(
Sue Ahn 2:55am April 25, 2010)

It sounds like a fun series. Going to look for the books.
(
Karin Tillotson 12:24pm April 25, 2010)

Good Sunday morning! What a bunch of amazing readers you all are! I have so enjoyed this website. love to hear your thoughts on the trilogy, especially the new one. You can reach me at [email protected]
(
Kat Martin 1:44pm April 25, 2010)

It sounds like my kind of series. I'm looking forward to this one.
(
Armenia Fox 6:41pm April 25, 2010)

I adore series books. Susan Mallery and Robyn Carr do great ones.

This latest series you are highlighting looks good.
(
Pat Lieberman 7:29am August 16, 2010)

I love series books. Sometimes I fall
in love with a back character and
want to hear their story. However it
is important for the story to be a
stand alone, because sometimes I
enter a story with a book in the
middle of the story.
(
Tanja Haack 4:12pm August 16, 2010)

I'm currently in the process of reading 4 different series of books. I just love being able to catch up on what previous lead characters--or minor ones--are doing. I really enjoy seeing characters in a greater context than just their little world, although that, on occasion, can also be wonderful. Though I agree about the stand-alone part. Most often I'll go looking for other books in a series, but they are not always available. I do want each book to be complete in itself, unless it's something like Tolstoy's WAR AND PEACE which is such a long story and heavy book that you want to have it in volumes.
(
Sigrun Schulz 4:27pm August 16, 2010)

I like the series because they usually answer the question'What happened after...'
(
Karin Tillotson 5:15pm August 16, 2010)

I definitely will keep an eye out for them! I love trilogies, quartets, series because I like revisiting with old friends!
(
Kelli Jo Calvert 5:18pm August 16, 2010)

I like book series because they offer the reader a glimpse into what comes after the HEA for some characters (when they show up in subsequent books). I particularly enjoyed your Necklace series so I'm looking forward to your new one.
(
S Tieh 5:29pm August 16, 2010)

I do love books that are connected. I just need to read them in the correct order though.
(
Mary Preston 6:05pm August 16, 2010)

I love the Necklace trilogy and look forward to the Raines Brothers series.
(
Jane Cheung 7:15pm August 16, 2010)

I love books that are in a series unless they take too long to come out with the next book. At that point it makes me kind of mad, lol. I don't want to wait.
(
Vicki Hancock 7:43pm August 16, 2010)

Yours were probably among the first series books I read. They've always left me looking for "the next one". And you never disappointed me. I love it when the characters evolve to the extent that they have to have their "own story". Your new series looks as intriguing. Keep up the good work. It appears, for you, that that good country air is most inspiring!
(
Jean Merriott 7:59pm August 16, 2010)

I enjoy series book and I love LOVE your Bride series (o.k I love your books) and hope you keep the books coming,
I'm a big Fan.
(
Vickie Hightower 8:13pm August 16, 2010)

I love seeries books, but sometimes read them out of order. That sounds funny.
(
Alyson Widen 8:47pm August 16, 2010)

I loved reading your Bride series and am looking forward to the Necklace Trilogy. Thanks for all of the wonderful books you have written.
(
Robin McKay 8:54pm August 16, 2010)

I love a series, if I hit one I like I buy the entire one!
(
Brenda Rupp 9:03pm August 16, 2010)

Series are a favorite, for many of the
reasons you mentioned. What I don't
like is waiting month or a year for the
next book in a series to come out. I
usually wait until they are all out
before even starting the series. Your
release schedule for The Raines
Brothers books is perfect.
Have enjoyed your books for years. I
look forward to this new series.
(
Patricia Barraclough 11:35pm August 16, 2010)

I love series and am still am trying to work out which is better - buying the books as they come out but waiting to read them all together or to start reading them the day they are released and then waiting (sometimes months) for the next to be released! My biggest problem usually is waiting for the next series to begin! I've never read one of your books that I haven't loved.
(
Jeanne Miro 8:56am August 17, 2010)

As long as you can keep the story line interesting, the characters worth reading about, and not letting things go flat, your books will be worth reading. I tried a couple of authors one time, and they got lax with the series, so I just lost interest. I'll have to give your books a try.
(
Peggy Roberson 11:11am August 17, 2010)

H, Guys! you've all written such wonderful comments and it looks like everyone is definitely in favor of series books! I'll finally started to enjoy writing them, but it took me a while! k
(
Kat Martin 1:50pm August 17, 2010)

I had a little family problem glitch in my day yesterday so am signing on a little late. Hope you will all forgive me. I loved your comments. you're the best! kat
(
Kat Martin 1:51pm August 17, 2010)

I love series books, but I'm a
purest and must read read them in
order.
(
Lisa Richards 11:30am August 22, 2010)

I really really liked this book. The plot and characters were very well written.
(
Faye McMichael 10:15am September 20, 2010)

What a fabulous series this is. Cannot wait to read them all.
