Re: The Fixer Upper (11:54am August 23, 2009):

I know that there are people that believe only books that provoke deep emotions and deep thoughts are the only books
that qualify as literature. I don't read for other people, I read for myself and therefore what I consider to be
great is the only thing that matters.

THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL was a great read for me, I LOVED every second of it and I have recommended this book endlessly
to everyone who cares for a recommendation. Even when I worked at Barnes and Noble, this would be my staple
recommendation because it had a little bit of something for everyone.

Then there are my other greats, A WALK TO REMEMBER by Nicholas Sparks, because it doesn't matter how many times I read
it I still sob at the same point and continue to do so through out the book.

I do have to admit to being a snob about Stephanie Meyer's Twilight series because I don't like the characters and the
fact that they are so dependent on each other and that Edward is a Beta male. However, I feel I can call this an
empty calorie book for myself because I have read it and I didn't like it and I got nothing out of the experience
except for annoyed. Does that make me a bad reader? Now I have to wonder.

Re: Smash Cut (10:26pm August 20, 2009):

I am not a re-reader by nature, however there are a few exceptions to that over all rule. I will re-read A WALK TO
REMEMBER by Nicholas Sparks because this book will always make me cry and in the most wonderful of ways. And I have
re-read the entire Harry Potter series a minimum of 3 times each book, some books have been re-read more often, but
that is because they have been released longer. I am currently working my way through that series again as I just
finished up HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCEROR'S STONE on audio. I love Jim Dale.

Re: The Perfect Couple (11:47am August 9, 2009):

I don't know that I have heard about any authors that I read being removed from contract, but I do have the depression of
not knowing when or if favorite series will be writing the next. PJ Tracy for one, I keep hearing rumors about their next
release however I see nothing about it on their site.

Re: Hot Pursuit (3:02pm August 2, 2009):

I LOVE my library system my
new years resolution was to
buy no more than 10 brand new
books. However, I have far
surpassed that goal because
the books that I gave myself
the okay to buy I have gotten
from my library instead. I
just can't see spending $25.00
on a book that i won't ever
re-read. B & N now has a free
ereader, that can be used for
Iphones and Ipods so you don't
have to buy a kindle. It'll
be interesting to see what
happens that is for sure.

Re: Mackenzie's Legacy (6:45am July 27, 2009):

I don't know if I'd want to
see if their lives have
changed per se but I would
really want to meet Eve Dallas
and Roarke from JD Robbs in
Death series. They are the
characters that will forever
be in my heart.

Re: The Guernsey Literary And Potato Peel Pie Society (11:51am July 5, 2009):

For me it was the same book,
Guernsey, I enjoyed it well
enough while I was reading it
but I felt like the characters
never fully developed and I so
wanted to love them more.

Re: The Secret Life of Bees (11:34am February 8, 2009):

Well....All I have to say is
that for me they are two
totally different mediums of
entertainment and I find it
difficult to compare them to
each other. Take Harry Potter
and the Prisoner of Azkaban, I
thought the movie did nothing
for the book because to me
they left out key elements to
the story. Granted they are
elements that are not required
to the overall story, but were
elements that mattered to the
readers. It was a connection
that was lacking and it made
me sad, but did it ruin the
movie or the book for me..not
really.
However, I will also that it
was the Harry Potter movies
that led me to read the books.
So I will always have a
special place in my heart for
those first two movies. I
usually prefer reading the
book then seeing the movie,
but since I know that the
authors don't usually write
the movies I am pretty safe
doing either one.

Re: Take Me If You Can (6:02pm August 31, 2008):

My perfect birthday would being blessed with the ability to blow hundreds of dollars on new books, but that hardly ever happens because responsibility wins out. Other than that, being w/the people who make me smile gives me the best rewards.
