Re: In Bed with a Rogue (7:33am September 4, 2014):

Thank you, Sharlene! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. :)

Re: One Rogue Too Many (11:42am January 18, 2014):

Aw, thank you, Peggy! Your comment made me smile. :)

Isn't it funny how life turns out? My husband was a complete surprise too, but
the best thing that could have happened to me.

Re: One Rogue Too Many (11:35am January 18, 2014):

Hi, Linda T! :)
I love the purple too. I think Sourcebooks did a fantastic job on the cover. Of
course, they never disappoint me.

Middle school was my first big crush too. (We called it Jr. High.)

Re: One Rogue Too Many (11:33am January 18, 2014):

Linda Hall & Kathleen Beale,
Thank you for stopping by. Good luck in the drawing! :)

Re: One Rogue Too Many (11:31am January 18, 2014):

Michelle Willms,
Good for you! I love that you told him it was too late. :)

Re: One Rogue Too Many (10:07pm January 16, 2014):

Thank you for the best wishes, Elaine. I'm sorry to hear you lost your first crush.
:(

Re: One Rogue Too Many (10:01pm January 16, 2014):

Hi, Kai & Janie!

My first real crush didn't notice me either. I pined most of Jr. High. He was a
basketball player, so I attended every home game and pined some more. *sigh*
Then he moved away, and I was crush-free until high school when a new boy
moved to our school. He had been in Catholic school up until 10th grade. Oh,
my goodness. My heart still skips a beat when I think of him. LOL

Re: One Rogue Too Many (9:55pm January 16, 2014):

Glenda,
Hahaha… I can just imagine how talk of marriage might be a little much for a
1st grader. :D

Re: One Rogue Too Many (9:54pm January 16, 2014):

Jeanne,
What a wonderful story of first love! So did the baseball team win more games
that summer? ;)

Thank you for your kind words. I'm so glad you got a good feel for the story
from the excerpt. I do love writing my flashback scenes. lol

Re: One Rogue Too Many (9:49pm January 16, 2014):

Oh, Sandy!
I'm with you. Yuck! Thank goodness you found out about him early, but that
had to be so tough to hear. :(

Re: One Rogue Too Many (9:47pm January 16, 2014):

Marilyn,
Aww! That's so cute. :)

Re: One Rogue Too Many (9:46pm January 16, 2014):

Cecilia,
Thank you! And congratulations on 25 years with the right guy! Second chance
at love stories are some my favorites, and they are even better when it's real
life. :)

Re: One Rogue Too Many (9:41pm January 16, 2014):

Marcelyn,
First love at summer camp. That would be a great memory. :)

Re: One Rogue Too Many (9:40pm January 16, 2014):

Thank you, Lisa! The odd part about the clip board is I don't write on it. LOL
There is no real purpose to having it other than when I'm finished writing, I use
the clip to hold my papers. Maybe that's not such a weird thing. It keeps
everything together, but so would a paperclip. :)

Re: One Rogue Too Many (2:38pm January 16, 2014):

It was long ago for me too, Denise. :)

Thanks for stopping by, Kent. :)

Re: One Rogue Too Many (12:23pm January 16, 2014):

Hi, Colleen!
That sounds much more like me. I never wanted my crushes to know I had a
crush on them. lol

Re: One Rogue Too Many (12:22pm January 16, 2014):

Sue,
What a sweet story! And how great that you actually got to go on a date with
your crush. I never did go out with any of my crushes. Who knows, maybe it
would have just ruined my daydreams. :)

Re: Lady Vivian Defies A Duke (7:37pm May 24, 2013):

Tina,
I love books where there's comical arguing. You might really like Miss Lavigne's
Little White Lie. Daniel Hillary is a bit difficult in a funny way, and Lisette
Lavigne is pretty good at putting him in his place. :)

Re: Lady Vivian Defies A Duke (7:36pm May 24, 2013):

Thanks, Denise! A hot duke is a must! ;D

Re: Lady Vivian Defies A Duke (7:35pm May 24, 2013):

Hi, Karin!
That's not nice when a character comes back and takes over. They already had
their moment in the spotlight. ;)

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts.

Re: Lady Vivian Defies A Duke (7:34pm May 24, 2013):

Thanks, Sandie! I hope you enjoy it if you get a chance to read it. I had so much
fun writing this book. :)

Re: Lady Vivian Defies A Duke (7:32pm May 24, 2013):

Hi, Kathleen. I definitely have trouble with a series if there's important
information in a previous book that I need to understand the one I'm reading.
Fortunately I rarely run into that situation in romance, but the one time I did, I
was so confused. Plus, there were about 20 characters mentioned in one scene
and I couldn't keep everyone straight. That's the reason I try to make each story
stand alone. Much easier for me and the reader. ;)

Re: Lady Vivian Defies A Duke (7:29pm May 24, 2013):

Aw thank you, Jeanne! You're like a professional historical romance reader!
That's awesome that you've been reading this genre for that long. :)

Re: Lady Vivian Defies A Duke (7:27pm May 24, 2013):

Hi, Kai!
The Bakery Sisters sounds fascinating. The title alone pulls me in. :)

Re: Lady Vivian Defies A Duke (7:24pm May 24, 2013):

Patricia,
I LOVE New Orleans, so Jennifer Blake's series sounds like something I would
enjoy. Thanks so much for stopping by and mentioning this series. :)

Re: Lady Vivian Defies A Duke (7:07pm May 24, 2013):

G S,
I love that Julia Quinn's Bridgertons follows a large family. I love family series! :)

Re: Lady Vivian Defies A Duke (8:28am May 24, 2013):

Thank you, Vicki!

Re: Lady Vivian Defies A Duke (8:28am May 24, 2013):

Gladys,
I love heroines with a lot of nerve! There are very few shrinking violets in my
books. :)

Re: Lady Vivian Defies A Duke (8:26am May 24, 2013):

Cece,
That's so great of you to take care of your mother-in-law. It's a big job and I
can understand why you don't have time to read right now. I wish her a speedy
recovery and good health for you and the rest of your family. Thanks so much
for stopping by today. :)

Re: Lady Vivian Defies A Duke (8:22am May 24, 2013):

Carla,
I love Amanda Quick's books. I also like that she takes chances. I really liked the
books with the recurring couple, Tobias and Lavinia. (I think that was her
name.) To me the HEA is just the beginning of the story, so I like seeing how
couples are doing too. :)

Re: Lady Vivian Defies A Duke (8:11am May 24, 2013):

Theresa,
Valerie Bowman is fun, isn't she? And she's such a sweet person too. I love
humorous stories. I haven't had a chance to read her newest book, but I enjoyed
her debut, Secrets of a Wedding Night. :)

Re: Lady Vivian Defies A Duke (8:09am May 24, 2013):

Hi, Diane!
I've never read Emily March or Janet Chapman. I'll have to check them out. I was
thinking I might try Audible (I think that's what it's called) for my phone so I can
listen to audio books. That seems to be the best time for me to catch up on my
"reading". :)

Re: Lady Vivian Defies A Duke (8:07am May 24, 2013):

Sharlene,
Thank you! It's great to see you here today. Sisters would be fun! Some day I
want to write a trilogy about sisters. I've been developing an idea. If only there
were more hours in the day. ;)

Re: Lady Vivian Defies A Duke (7:35pm May 23, 2013):

Thank you, Peggy! Ooh, I don't think I'd like to see a character I didn't like show
up again. Unless the author is really good a redeeming the person. It's not easy,
though, because their past isn't easily forgotten. :)

Re: Lady Vivian Defies A Duke (6:13pm May 23, 2013):

Michele,
I think it's so fun to see past characters pop in too. :)

Re: Lady Vivian Defies A Duke (6:12pm May 23, 2013):

Colleen,
I agree 100%! I love to see how characters I've gotten to know are doing after
their story has ended. :)

Re: Lady Vivian Defies A Duke (6:11pm May 23, 2013):

Thank you, Sarah! Good luck to everyone! :)

Re: Miss Lavigne's Little White Lie (4:07pm October 18, 2012):

Thanks, Kyla! I do end up with some great covers, thanks to Sourcebooks. :)

Re: Miss Lavigne's Little White Lie (4:07pm October 18, 2012):

Thank you, Margaret and Bonnie! I hope you enjoy the book if you get a chance
to read it. :)

Re: Miss Lavigne's Little White Lie (4:06pm October 18, 2012):

Chelsea,
I've found my opinion often changes, too, when I get to know the person. I think
at a minimum if I can understand a person, I'm more tolerant. :)

Re: Miss Lavigne's Little White Lie (4:04pm October 18, 2012):

Colleen,
That sounds like a reasonable way to approach meeting a new person. :)

Re: Miss Lavigne's Little White Lie (4:03pm October 18, 2012):

Hi, Kathleen.
Too bad we don't have buttons we can put on saying "Having a bad day. Please
don't hold it against me". :)

Re: Miss Lavigne's Little White Lie (4:01pm October 18, 2012):

Shelly,
Thanks for sharing your viewpoint. There is likely some truth to your statement
that first impressions are how people are. I think about meeting someone who
is under a lot of stress. That is how they are under stress. Or if they've just
received good news, we see how they are when happy. What complex creatures
we are. :)

Re: Miss Lavigne's Little White Lie (3:57pm October 18, 2012):

Pamela,
You're hysterical. In a good and funny way. LOL :)

Re: Miss Lavigne's Little White Lie (3:55pm October 18, 2012):

Carla,
That's an excellent point about instincts. I've had things I've thought about
people and then things I've felt on a gut level. I think our gut reactions are there
to protect us, so I always listen to those. In those situations, I don't feel I owe
anyone anything. If I badly misjudge them, then so be it. I'd rather be wrong
and safe. :)

Re: Miss Lavigne's Little White Lie (3:52pm October 18, 2012):

Nancy,
That makes perfect sense to me. :)

Re: Miss Lavigne's Little White Lie (3:51pm October 18, 2012):

Pam Brewer,
I've certainly been wrong about both as well. And I've been right. It is interesting
to me though that some of the people I didn't care for at first have turned out to
be people I've become closest with over time. I wonder if that's because I have
to make more of an effort to get to know and understand them to like them.

Re: Miss Lavigne's Little White Lie (3:46pm October 18, 2012):

Pam Howell,
That seems like a good guideline. If our friends like someone, he or she may be
worth a second chance. I like that. :)

Re: Miss Lavigne's Little White Lie (3:45pm October 18, 2012):

Karin,
Good point about people often putting up defenses when we first meet
someone. Sometimes it pays to get to know the person better. :)

Re: Miss Lavigne's Little White Lie (3:43pm October 18, 2012):

La Quita,
The more I've thought about it, the more I would agree sometimes first
impressions are very accurate. There are some things that show a person's
character that I don't think could be chalked up to a bad day. If someone is
mean to a child or animal, for example, I would go with my instincts.

Re: Miss Lavigne's Little White Lie (3:40pm October 18, 2012):

Hi, Beth.
I'm much more open to giving second chances now, and you make a great point
about having been given second chances, too. I know I'm not at my best all the
time, although I try to be courteous. :)

Re: Miss Lavigne's Little White Lie (3:36pm October 18, 2012):

Renee,
Thanks for stopping by today. I think being open to changing your opinion is
admirable. :)

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (9:29am June 29, 2012):

Thank you, Maya! I hope you enjoy the story if you get a chance to read it. I like
the unusual, too. Quirky is really up my alley, although I can't describe my
writing as quirky. :-)

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (9:26am June 29, 2012):

Erin F,
Thanks! Yes, Romeo and Juliet is a classic rip-your-heart-out-and-stomp-on-
it-repeatedly story. ;D

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (9:25am June 29, 2012):

Janie,
I love your examples!

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (9:23am June 29, 2012):

LL,
And isn't Titanic heartbreaking??? Jack could have lived. It was unnecessary to
the story for him to die, IMO.

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (9:10am June 29, 2012):

Gail,
Thank you! And happy reading. :)

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (9:09am June 29, 2012):

Thank you, Susan! I've never seen Time After Time. Another movie for my list. :)

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (9:08am June 29, 2012):

Tracie,
I don't think I've ever watched the whole movie of Casablanca. It seems like
every time I see it on TV it is halfway finished. I should try to find it on Netflix or
rent it.

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (9:06am June 29, 2012):

Thank you, Diane! I hope you enjoy it.

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (9:04am June 29, 2012):

Thank you, Mary Hay! :)

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (9:02am June 29, 2012):

Peggy,
"When Harry Met Sally" is a perfect example of star-crossed lovers, but with a
happy ending. I've never read "Roses", but I would love to get my hands on a
book I can't put down.

Thanks! And the cutie on the cover gets compliments all the time. LOL. Kudos
to Paul Marron for nailing Jake Hillary's character.

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (8:57am June 29, 2012):

Renee,
Ever After is one of my all-time favorites! Great example!

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (9:28pm June 28, 2012):

Sue,
Ditto! ;D

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (9:26pm June 28, 2012):

Pat,
I love Pretty Woman! The original story had a sad ending, but thank goodness
Gary Marshall knows what women want from a romantic story. I'll keep writing.
The universe needs me! ;D

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (9:23pm June 28, 2012):

Thank you, Wilma! Happy reading!

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (9:20pm June 28, 2012):

Thank you, Molly! I hope you enjoy it. I think the cover on the actual book is
even lovelier than the computer image. I just love the colors, lighting, and the
smoldering look. :)

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (9:16pm June 28, 2012):

Gladys,
That sounds like something I would really like. I love stories about people from
different cultures and how they make their relationship work.

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (9:14pm June 28, 2012):

Chelsea K,
Yay for happy endings! A hundred years to reform a rake? Now I'm intrigued.

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (9:13pm June 28, 2012):

Thank you, Sheila! Ghost was a real tear-jerker.

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (9:11pm June 28, 2012):

Thanks, Ashley! Sourcebooks has given me some really great covers so far. I
can't wait to see the latest one. It's one of my favorite parts of the process.

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (9:09pm June 28, 2012):

Colleen,
Oh, my gosh! How did I NOT know there was a sequel to GWTW??? I must have
been living in a cave all this time. Okay. I totally have to check out SCARLETT!

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (5:59pm June 28, 2012):

Michelle,
I love Jane Eyre and anything by Jane Austen. I've read most of the stories over
and over again when I rarely read a book more than once. :)

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (5:56pm June 28, 2012):

Sharon D,
That sounds really good! I haven't read that one yet.

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (5:55pm June 28, 2012):

Kathleen,
Do you think Rhett and Scarlet got back together in the future? I believe they
did. They couldn't stay away from each other.

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (5:54pm June 28, 2012):

Chelsea,

I'm with you. The first time I watched these movies I had no idea what to
expect. I hate watching a sad movie, because it can make me feel awful for
days. I usually stick with romantic comedies these days. :)

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (5:51pm June 28, 2012):

May Pau,

I suppose if one of them had to go... ;-)

It was still a great movie, but I wish they could have both survived and had a
great life together.

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (5:50pm June 28, 2012):

Maureen,

And wasn't that story a huge downer??? LOL.

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (5:48pm June 28, 2012):

Thank you, Denise! :)

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (5:47pm June 28, 2012):

G S Moch,

Thank you for the reminder! Kristan Higgins is great. That's one of the sources I
need to turn to for a happy ending.

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (12:05pm June 28, 2012):

Anna,

It's my pleasure to offer a chance to win Lady Amelia. :)

No matter how many times I watch "Ghost" I bawl. It's like I've never seen the
movie before. LOL

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (12:03pm June 28, 2012):

Susan,

I've heard so many people talking about Jeanine Frost lately. She must write
great stories. The fact that the heroine is a vampire hunter and the hero is a
vampire is one huge obstacle! Thanks so much for stopping by today and
sharing. I'm going to check her out.

Re: Lady Amelia's Mess And A Half (11:22am June 28, 2012):

Bonnie & Nancy,
Thank you! Good luck to both of you in the drawing. I hope you enjoy the book.
Jake and Amelia are near and dear to my heart.

Re: Miss Hillary Schools a Scoundrel (7:12pm February 28, 2012):

Thanks to everyone for sharing your thoughts today. Schools have changed quite a bit since I was a kid, and now I have two kids in school. I can't believe what they are learning. My daughter is learning algebra in 3rd grade, but the good part is she's really learning the concepts and how to apply them. I'm sure grateful to my kids' teachers, and I feel fortunate to be in a great school district.

Re: Miss Hillary Schools a Scoundrel (6:45pm February 28, 2012):

Kelly Knapp,

What a great sport your husband is!!! And you gave me a great idea. DH has been wanting to attend Ren Fest, so I'll tell him anyone wearing a puffy shirt gets free ale. ;D
