Re: Welcome Back To Apple Grove (8:17pm December 20, 2013):

Thanks, Sue ;) Firefighters are very sexy ;)

LOL, Jennifer...lots of votes for Chocolate Chips!

Re: Welcome Back To Apple Grove (5:42pm December 20, 2013):

LOL, Sheila - OK...I confess, I'll eat just about any type of cookie...well except for ones with mint flavoring in them. I think chocolate chips have the most votes so far ;)

Thanks for loving Apple Grove, Molly ;)

Re: Welcome Back To Apple Grove (4:56pm December 20, 2013):

Hi Marcelyn - ahhh...lots of people use different names for the same deliciousness. Pecan Tassies are amazing! Love Pecans ;)

Thanks Cecilia. I've been waiting to write Patrick's story since the first book in the series when he was Honey B. Harrington's blind date ;) Yum another vote for sugar cookies. Blonde Brownies are a great choice too ;)

Yay, Carol, another vote for chocolate chips ;) You can't go wrong with ANYTHING that has chocolate in it...just sayin' ;)

Re: Welcome Back To Apple Grove (3:38pm December 20, 2013):

Hey Michelle - lots of votes for chocolate chips ;) I'm definitely going to look up horseshoe and nut tossies ;) Yay Gram ;)

Re: Welcome Back To Apple Grove (3:03pm December 20, 2013):

Hi Peggy - how wonderful that you're known for your mom's cookies, now too ;) I love prune danish and anything with cherries in it, so count me in for your mom's cookies and the cherry winks ;) I loved spending time in Apple Grove and am sad to say goodbye to the good people there.

Hey Anna - another vote for chocolate chips! Milk chocolate or semi-sweets?

LOL, Barbara for years, when our kids asked me, I always told them books for Christmas and birthdays. ;)

Waving to Betty! Ooooh Russian Tea Cakes sound yummy--must be tea time:0

Hey Vennie - OMGoodness, can I use your quote about my book being like a warm cookie out of the oven? Love it! I'd love to try the Jeannettes...I love lemon and Italian pastries and cookies are always delicious. How lovely that you and your sister called them lights in the snow ;)

Hey Denise - another vote for sugar cookies and almonds ones ;) Yummy!

You know, Stephanie, M&Ms are always a good choice in cookies or in your hand ;)

Hey Lisa, the cover is wonderful and I'm soooo happy that they finally found an F1 to put on the cover! PB kisses have always been a hit here, when our kids were little they used to eat the kisses off the cookies and leave the cookies for their daddy to eat:) That tube of cookies is always a good choice, we like to eat the dough right out of the tube ;)

Thanks, Patricia, I really loved writing this series and am having withdrawal now that it's over. We used to take rides in Lancaster County every summer when our grandparents came up from FLA to visit. We'd take them out to Shankweiler's Restaurant for lunch ;)

Hey Susan, another vote for PB cookies....I've never had Italian Lace cookies, yay another new cookie to find a recipe for. ;)

Re: Welcome Back To Apple Grove (2:42pm December 20, 2013):

Finally got our grandson settled down with his momma and baby-brother-to-be on the couch snuggling watching the Muppet Family Christmas. Whew! They wear me out ;)

Hi Betty - I don't think I've ever had strawberry thumbprints they sound delicious. PB ones are a big favorite here too ;)

Thanks, Bonnie. I loved writing this series and especially this book.

LOL Linda, you know firefighters don't get enough credit for what they do for a living. Hello...the walk toward the fire!

Hey, Kathy - I've yet to try snickerdoodles, they're on my list to try to make one of these days ;) Chocolate chips are always a favorite here.

That's another vote for chocolate chips, Judy. Hmmm...what are peanut butter balls? Have to look them up.

Hi Sharon, I'm glad you enjoyed the post. ;)

Hey Richard - Sugar cookies...it's what's for breakfast! Seriously I baked some the other day to take to a booksigning with gingerbreads and scones and only took half with me...my guys were delighted to find the cookies and the bowl of icing waiting for them the next morning. Goes great with coffee ;)

OMGOODNESS, Deanna!!! My daughter just heard me rhapsodizing over your idea of rolos (my fave) melting into the cookie dough in the mini muffin tin. Her words "GENIUS!" Not mean sarcastically at all--she's due in February and food is pretty much a focus these days ;)

Hi Maria - I've never had cinnamon pinwheels w cream cheese...another cookie to look up. ;)

Well, Theresa, it is a small world isn't it? Aiken, SC! Are you planning on going to the Sweet Tea and Chocolate Cake Book Club's Luncheon in the Fall? It's in Augusta, GA. I'll be there one of the authors hosting a table. Sugar cookies...great anytime of the day!

Hi Colleen - that's my name too ;) M&M's in cookies...another wonderfully yummy idea ;)

Re: Welcome Back To Apple Grove (8:35am December 20, 2013):

You're very welcome, Denise ;) I loved writing this series.

Well, Lynsey, that's what I'm hoping for sparks that ignite and lead to love ;)

Wow, Melanie that sounds yummy. I'll have to look up a recipe for White Almond Bark...haven't made that yet. I'm more of a dark or milk chocolate kindof gal ;)

Another new one for me, Pat! I'll have to save some of those Hershey's Kisses for the butter cookies--and not just the peanut butter cookies. Sounds yummy!

Re: Welcome Back To Apple Grove (8:33am December 20, 2013):

Thanks for inviting me to guest blog today about something close to my heart...my kitchen ;)

Re: One Day in Apple Grove (7:06pm June 13, 2013):

Hi Linda - Barbara Vey's Reader Luncheon is in Wisconsin. This was the second year, we were in Milwaukee...I'm pretty sure last year was there too...at a different location, though. :) I love writing frontier romance :)It was my first book back in 2001 and my first series and am delighted to have the rights back and re-releasing it :)

Re: One Day in Apple Grove (5:38pm June 13, 2013):

Hi Chelsea - lots of fun. And as I suggested to L Lam, I'd start with a smaller venue first. :)

Re: One Day in Apple Grove (5:37pm June 13, 2013):

Hey Carletta now you have me wondering where you are. LOL. I'm in the woods in northern NJ and have to travel to find one, too :)

Re: One Day in Apple Grove (5:36pm June 13, 2013):

Hey L Lam - if it is something you are interested in finding out more about, definitely google Lori Foster and Lora Leigh to find out more about their events. Starting small is much easier than starting big :)

Re: One Day in Apple Grove (5:33pm June 13, 2013):

Hi Marcia - I agree, it is great to meet readers and authors alike. It is always interesting to discover what hooks readers and what keeps them coming back for more :)

Re: One Day in Apple Grove (5:32pm June 13, 2013):

Hey Irene - you never know, you might have the opportunity one day soon. I don't know why I didn't remember it before now, but Celebrate Romance in Pittsburgh was the first one I attended...I think it was 1997 or 1998...not sure of the date, but I still have the heart-shaped pin with CR on it :)

Re: One Day in Apple Grove (5:30pm June 13, 2013):

Hey Colleen - we share the same name :) I'm so glad you had a chance to attend an event this year. It is lots of fun :) Romance Readers are such wonderful people:)

Re: One Day in Apple Grove (5:29pm June 13, 2013):

Oh, BJ...I know what you mean, it is so hard sometimes. Maybe you'll get there next year :)

Re: One Day in Apple Grove (5:22pm June 13, 2013):

Hi Peggy, I agree it is hard to pick just one event to start. I started with RT and once I started volunteering and got to know the fantastic crew behind the scenes, I've been helping ever since...and as a matter of fact, my hubby went with me to Columbus and has been going and working behind the scenes, too! LOL. Sourcebooks does a wonderful job with covers, don't they? But I do have to say that the real Jameson aka "Jamie" is much cuter than the puppy on the cover. :)

Re: One Day in Apple Grove (5:20pm June 13, 2013):

Hi Elizabeth - thanks so much! I love writing historicals and westerns are a particular favorite of mine. At the moment, I'm almost ready to release the 3rd bk in the Irish Western Series, leaving just 1 book left to go over before re-releasing it. :) It has been such fun seeing my hardcover series in e-book and trade paperback format. :) RT is always amazing and I've been to CRW a few years back, unfortunately it usually happens right around RT and my promo dollars only stretch so far. :) Thanks for adding me to your TBR list :)

Re: One Day in Apple Grove (5:17pm June 13, 2013):

Hi May - I almost missed your comment, sorry! Hmmm...where are you located? Maybe there is one coming up in 2014 that isn't that far from you :)

Re: One Day in Apple Grove (5:16pm June 13, 2013):

Hi Denise - depending on where you are in the US, there are a number of different events that I can recommend. RT Booklovers Convention (2014 to be held in New Orleans), Lori Foster's RAGT (Reader Author Get Together) just happened last week in Ohio, Authors After Dark in Savannah Georgia in August, and Lora Leigh's RAW (Reader Appreciation Weekend) September in Maryland.

Re: One Day in Apple Grove (5:14pm June 13, 2013):

Hey Sharon - too true. The next event I'm attending is on June 29th in Long Island, NY--the Book Obsessed Chicks 2nd Annual BBQ. There will be 100 people attending and 20 of them Romance Authors :) It was a blast last year. I hope to remember to take pics this year :)

Re: One Day in Apple Grove (5:13pm June 13, 2013):

Hi Jamie - Exactly! LOVE being the fan girl for Nora Roberts, Julie Garwood and Sherrilyn Kenyon :) I have yet to meet Janet Evanovich, but she's on my list of faves to someday meet :)

Re: One Day in Apple Grove (5:12pm June 13, 2013):

Hey Bonnie - Hmmm...a James Patterson signing does sound like fun...but attending an event for Romance Readers is completely different. You should check out the RT Booklovers Convention on line to see pics and read about what goes on at a big event...then check out Lora Leigh's RAW (Reader Appreciation Weekend) for the size of event that is easy to handle if crowds are not your thing :)

Re: One Day in Apple Grove (5:10pm June 13, 2013):

Hi Everyone - catching up just got home from babysitting our grandson...FYI he is faster and lower to the ground than I am :)

Hey Maureen - Readers Events are fun. At first it is hard to switch gears and just be an author, because I'm so used to pitching in and stuffing registration bags, etc. :)

Re: One Day in Apple Grove (6:16am June 13, 2013):

Hi Dianne! Depending on how you feel about crowds there are a number of reader events out there where readers have the chance to meet and chat with authors one-on-one. :)

Re: A Wedding In Apple Grove (4:37pm November 17, 2012):

Hi Kimberly - I'm so glad you like the cover, I've had some really positive feedback about it that I've passed on to the SB Art Dept. They do amazing covers Thanks :)

Hi Joanne - LOL at your city slicker comment. Thanks for the kind words. :)

Hi Jolene - moving is always hard. My mom hated that my dad got transferred so often when he was working for DuPont...they moved 10 times in those first 9 years...which is why my older brother and I were born in Aiken, SC. I've always wanted to move to a big old farmhouse out in the middle of nowhere...but so far that's not in the cards for us...we're still living in our little lakestyle cottage in the woods, but it's so homey, I can't imagine leaving now! LOL! Thanks :)

Hey Mary, I'm so glad you enjoyed the post. You're right pros and cons for small towns and big ones. Thanks!

Hi Clare - absolutely! The pros IMHO are the sense of community and caring neighbors and the cons are the nosy neighbors. LOL! You're right it is nice to take a break from one genre, not all publishers encourage their authors to do so...fingers crossed they let me write more cowboys for them, too. Thanks!

Re: A Wedding In Apple Grove (4:31pm November 17, 2012):

Hi Kai - Yay! another vote for reading small town as a break from city living. Thanks :)

Thanks, Jennifer - the cover gods have smiled upon me again:) SB does amazing covers:)

LOL,Peggy...that photo pose hides alot :) I'm so glad you're enjoying your new home and know you will settle in just fine. I really like going over town and knowing that I'll run into people that know me and that I've known for years. THANKS for putting me on your TBR list :)

Hey Jennifer - OMGoodness I'm soooo glad you enjoyed reading about the Garahan brothers, they were such fun to write about Thanks :)

Re: A Wedding In Apple Grove (8:05pm November 16, 2012):

Hi Sharlene - I'm delighted to be on your list. Thanks :) Fresh Fiction is a FABULOUS site and do so much for romance authors. They are THE BEST!

Re: A Wedding In Apple Grove (7:47pm November 16, 2012):

Hi Carole! thank you for sharing a little bit about your grandmothers. Isn't it funny how different they can be? As the owners of a deli, I'll just bet your family was at the hub of what was going on in town. It's so lovely to have memories of our roots, isn't it? Thanks :)

Re: A Wedding In Apple Grove (6:47pm November 16, 2012):

Hi Diana - you are soooo right. The focus should always be on the heart of the story...the hero and the heroine and their journey toward their HEA :)

OMGoodness, Shelly, thank you so much for the lovely compliment. :)

Hi Shirley - thanks :) Wow...small world, isn't it? Most people have no idea where Aiken, SC is LOL!

Re: A Wedding In Apple Grove (4:38pm November 16, 2012):

Hi Shannon - thanks...fingers crossed reader's think so. :)

Hey Kent - good luck :)

Hi Holly - thanks. I was very fortunate that my editor believed in me enough to even ask me to take a detour from writing contemporary cowboys--which I LOVE doing :)

Hey Pamela - good luck to you, as well :)

Re: A Wedding In Apple Grove (4:36pm November 16, 2012):

OMGoodness...and I truly did NOT pay Tara Nina to say all of those nice things about me. LOL! Thank you my dear for visiting me today. :)

Re: A Wedding In Apple Grove (4:35pm November 16, 2012):

Hey there, Rita...there's just something about a small towns. Thanks for stopping by :)

Re: A Wedding In Apple Grove (4:34pm November 16, 2012):

Hey Shelby - well that definitely just put a smile on my face...I really love being on a reader's TBR pile :) THANKS!

Re: A Wedding In Apple Grove (4:33pm November 16, 2012):

Hi Marjorie - you are soooo lucky to be married to a man who uses his hands.:) Farming is not for the faint of heart and I think people really underestimate what it takes to be a farmer in this day and age. There's just something about a man who calluses on his hands that gets my heart pumping. Thanks :)

Re: A Wedding In Apple Grove (4:31pm November 16, 2012):

Hmmm...I can totally agree with you Samantha about the "peaceful vibe". Thanks :)

Re: A Wedding In Apple Grove (4:30pm November 16, 2012):

LOL reading your comment, Mary Hay because that is how I feel about big towns. :)

Re: A Wedding In Apple Grove (4:29pm November 16, 2012):

Thanks for stopping by, Debbie :)

Re: A Wedding In Apple Grove (4:28pm November 16, 2012):

Thanks, Shelia - I'd love to visit where you live. Parts of northern NJ have little hamlets and lake communities that are small and we love it...but other parts are waaaay too 'citified' for me. :)

Re: A Wedding In Apple Grove (1:52pm November 16, 2012):

OMGoodness, thanks for making me laugh out loud today, Grace. Seriously, I didn't think of it that way and I'm not really sure how successful it is...yet...but am crossing everything hoping it doesn't flop. Funny you should mention a cowboy riding into Apple Grove because one of the NYC Firefighting Garahan brothers is the hero in book 3 (which on deadline with) and he just has to have the Texas branch of the Garahan family come to Apple Grove for the wedding...there will be a trail of broken hearts once the single ladies of Apple Grove find out the Texas Garahans are all happily married. :) Thanks for stopping to chat! :)

Re: A Wedding In Apple Grove (1:48pm November 16, 2012):

Hi Kathleen - it's hard to go back, isn't it? I went back to our neighborhood on Cedar Hill and was heartbroken because the person who bought my grandparents home subdivided the lot and built a house right next to my grandparents! There was so much property, they could have built it down the hill...really sad. But at least your home town looked the same...I'm wondering if maybe we only get to have one or the other. Thanks for commenting :)

Re: A Wedding In Apple Grove (1:45pm November 16, 2012):

Hi Stephanie - Hmmm...do you live near Purity, Ohio? That's the town I built my fictional Apple Grove around. Thanks for posting :)

Re: A Wedding In Apple Grove (1:03pm November 16, 2012):

Hi Sharon - thank you so much for the warm wishes. I am hoping that people who visit the fictional town of Apple Grove will all feel welcome there. :)

Re: A Wedding In Apple Grove (12:34pm November 16, 2012):

Hi Helen - I'm delighted that you've added A Wedding in Apple Grove to your wish list. Thank you :)

Hi GS - There is something about small-town settings that remind me of a *hug*. Thank you for the lovely compliment. :)

Hi Ashley - I actually can't wait for reader-feedback. Thanks so much :)

Hi Wilma - Thank you, I'm glad you think so. :)

Hi Susan - there is just something about the small town atmosphere...for me it's the sense of community and busybodies. LOL! Thanks:)

Hi Colleen - I'm so glad you enjoy reading about the characters that keep me up nights. Thanks! :)

Hi Lisa - Thanks for making me smile. :)

Re: A Wedding In Apple Grove (12:28pm November 16, 2012):

Thanks so much for inviting me to guest blog, Sara, I always enjoy visiting everyone here at Fresh Fiction :)

Re: Jesse (8:58pm July 13, 2012):

Thanks so much, Dianne :)

Re: Jesse (8:57pm July 13, 2012):

I definitely agree, Lisa. :)

Re: Jesse (8:57pm July 13, 2012):

Kathleen, I am sure you are! Your granddaughter is very lucky to have you.:) You're making your own special memories.

Re: Jesse (7:38pm July 13, 2012):

I'm so glad, Patti. Please let me know what you think of the Garahan Brothers. :)

Re: Jesse (7:37pm July 13, 2012):

OMGoodness, Shelly, thank you so much for the lovely compliment. :)

Re: Jesse (7:36pm July 13, 2012):

Thanks, Rita, it was a fun series to write, and at times I still get carried away thinking of going back to Pleasure, Texas and getting those handsome Garahans all riled up. :)

Re: Jesse (7:35pm July 13, 2012):

Thanks, Shirley...my grandmother would have been 104 today! She lived to be 80 and got to see our youngest son walk.

Re: Jesse (7:33pm July 13, 2012):

Linda, I'm so glad. I have such great memories of my grandmothers. It's been years and I still miss them.

Re: Jesse (7:32pm July 13, 2012):

Thanks for adding me to your TBR list, Wendy! :)

Re: Jesse (7:31pm July 13, 2012):

Thanks, Chelsea. It just seemed to all come together once I realized Danielle's daughter would be one of the main characters. :)

Re: Jesse (7:30pm July 13, 2012):

Thanks, Penney! I'm glad you think so. :) I loved writing the trilogy.

Re: Jesse (7:30pm July 13, 2012):

Joanne! I am sooo jealous! Never got the outfit or the sixshooter, but my big brother did...he'd never let me use his gun, so I use to take the roll of caps out of it and use a rock to get them to go off. Never could figure out how our mom knew...guess it was the scent of spent caps! LOL.

Re: Jesse (5:30pm July 13, 2012):

Thanks, Linda. Please do let me know what you think of Dylan and Ronnie's story :) Sourcebooks does have great covers, don't they?

Re: Jesse (5:29pm July 13, 2012):

Hmmm...Mary...I've been camping twice. Both times we got rained on! The second time there was the added attraction of thunder and lightning! LOL! My mom was a huge lover of camping...dad never was, he preferred camping in the Holiday Inn! LOL

Re: Jesse (5:27pm July 13, 2012):

Thanks, Colleen! I'm so happy to hear that you've enjoyed reading about Jesse's brothers. :)

Re: Jesse (5:26pm July 13, 2012):

Sandy, how interesting! Friday the 13th has usually been a lucky day for our family as well. Our youngest son was born on a Saturday, too :)

Re: Jesse (5:20pm July 13, 2012):

Thanks, Shelia. I'm glad you enjoyed reading the blog:)

Re: Jesse (5:20pm July 13, 2012):

Catherine, I could see Lacy in my mind's eye as she got out of the car--despite the fact that her mommy told her not to. Having seen those tiny little pink Stetsons and boots for sale, I knew I had to dress her in them. And have to confess to wanting--but never receiving--a cowgirl outfit for Christmas. I always wanted to be Dale Evans. :)

Re: Jesse (5:18pm July 13, 2012):

Thanks, Samantha. I've always felt that way about beauty on the inside. Since I do believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I'm often baffled by the types of people that are attracted to one another. Great for characterizations though! :)

Re: Jesse (5:17pm July 13, 2012):

I'm so glad you enjoyed Tyler & Emily's story, Diane. They were so special because their story came to me first....sortof like a first love. I have to agree about a big strong guy melting for a little one. Our sons are uncles now and it warms my heart to see how they react and interact with our darling grandbaby Jack who was 9 mos old yesterday. :)

Re: Jesse (5:14pm July 13, 2012):

Hey Melanie...I almost missed your post. I had so much fun writing this series, it's hard to say goodbye for now.

Re: Jesse (5:14pm July 13, 2012):

Hey Marguerite! Thanks for adding the trilogy to your TBR list! :)

Re: Jesse (5:13pm July 13, 2012):

So true, Anna...he did. How cool that you share my great, great grandmother's name--she was Anna Garahan. :) I always use family names in my books and this series was in honor of her. :)

Re: Jesse (11:22am July 13, 2012):

Thanks, Elizabeth:) Be sure to let me know what you think of the Garahan Brothers :)

Re: Jesse (11:19am July 13, 2012):

Hey Cate - once little Lacy got out of the car, she took hold of my heart. :)

Re: Jesse (11:09am July 13, 2012):

Lucy, the Irish have such an endearing charm and way with words, I should know 3/4 of my heritage is Irish :) Were you in Spring Lake, NJ? It used to be called the Irish Riviera in it's golden days. My grandparent had their summer home there, whenever I think of the shore, I think of Spring Lake :)

Re: Jesse (11:06am July 13, 2012):

OK, Wilma...you are definitely THE woman for having raised 6 boys :)

Re: Jesse (10:55am July 13, 2012):

Waving to Carole!!! Thanks so much for visiting and posting today. You are the best! I'm sooo glad you enjoyed reading about the Garahan brothers. :)

Re: Jesse (10:54am July 13, 2012):

Hmmm...another vote for boys!?! Thanks Kim :)

Re: Jesse (10:53am July 13, 2012):

LOL, Audra! We have three darlings...adults now...two sons and a daughter in the middle. We used to wake up to the sound of something bouncing off the sheetrock wall in the boys' room. It was usually our youngest son.

Re: Jesse (10:51am July 13, 2012):

Marjorie, I totally agree. I have the best memories of both of my grandmothers. We have been blessed, haven't we?

Re: Jesse (10:40am July 13, 2012):

Hey Nancy...tall, dark, handsome and cowboy...what's not to love? Thanks:)

Re: Jesse (8:36am July 13, 2012):

Thanks, Bonnie. I really loved spending time in Pleasure, Texas while writing this series. :)

Re: Jesse (8:30am July 13, 2012):

LOL! I love it Clare! One of my brother's friends swore that the way to get a woman's attention was to borrow another friend's puppy and take it for a walk in the park. :)

Re: Dylan (9:19pm January 15, 2012):

Hi Peggy - well you just made my day! I'm freezing here in NJ, it was 6 at 6:30 am when I took our new puppy Jameson outside this morning. I'm not a winter person...so curling up with a good book and hot drink would be heaven!

I'm honored to be on the top of your TBR pile. Check out the rest of my excerpts on my website www.chadmirand.com. I have a historical Irish Western Romance series as well.

Hi Elizabeth - I'm so glad you love cowboys stories! I live in NJ but couldn't make it into NYC this weekend for the PBR either...too many crises going on in our house. BUT you are right about a good cowboy book...one that draws the reader in and gives a glimpse of what the life of the hard-working cowboy's life is really like.

I'd love to hear what you think of the series. I have a soft spot for the Garahan brothers and the Circle G.
