"This title reminds me why I fell in love with Julia Quinn’s writing!!"

Romance Historical
Georgie Bridgerton would like to be married...eventually and to a man of her choosing. Her choice is taken away, however, after a suitor abducts her for her dowry. Nicholas Rokesby has known the Bridgertons his entire life and has always considered Georgie to be a friend. He assumes when he rides to her rescue and offers her marriage, she will say yes. Only after Georgie refuses him does he realize how much he actually wants to marry her. Now all he has to do is convince her.
I love friends to lovers titles, especially when it’s such a gradual realization, like this one. There is no insta-lust in sight, just a slow build-up to Georgie and Nicholas realizing they’re not just friends but attracted to each other. And I loved it.
I absolutely adore a hero or heroine that is something other than a lord or lady. It was fantastic to read about a doctor (soon-to-be, anyway). I feel like this opens up possibilities for the plot besides just attending balls and other Society events. I enjoy those, too, but sometimes it’s nice to have something else to move the plot along.
VoirSeries
I was never bored with this title and lost some sleep because I just HAD to know what was going to happen next. Sure, FIRST COMES SCANDAL, but what happened after the scandal was so good.
The banter between the characters in all of Ms. Quinn’s books is so delightful, and this title was no exception. It was just pure fun to read and watch Nicholas and Georgie fall in love. I laughed out loud several times.
FIRST COMES SCANDAL is a delightful addition to the Rokesbys series, and I can’t wait to see what Julia Quinn will write next!!
SUMMARY
She was given two choices...
Georgiana Bridgerton isn’t against the idea of marriage. She’d just thought she’d have some say in the matter. But with her reputation hanging by a thread after she’s abducted for her dowry, Georgie is given two options: live out her life as a spinster or marry the rogue who has ruined her life.
Enter Option #3
As the fourth son of an earl, Nicholas Rokesby is prepared to chart his own course. He has a life in Edinburgh, where he’s close to completing his medical studies, and he has no time—or interest—to find a wife. But when he discovers that Georgie Bridgerton—his literal girl-next-door—is facing ruin, he knows what he must do.
A Marriage of Convenience
It might not have been the most romantic of proposals, but Nicholas never thought she’d say no. Georgie doesn’t want to be anyone’s sacrifice, and besides, they could never think of each other as anything more than childhood friends... or could they?
But as they embark upon their unorthodox courtship they discover a new twist to the age-old rhyme. First comes scandal, then comes marriage. But after that comes love...
