A WEDDING ON BLUEBIRD WAY is reminiscent of a gorgeous patchwork quilt done with style, grace and love. A WEDDING ON BLUEBIRD WAY joins four talented authors and charges them with the task of taking the story of a run-away bride and constructing four separate tales incorporating characters involved in the wedding that never happened. And so true to type, these four writers put pen to paper and came up with linked scenes that introduced unforgettable characters. Each story is a gem and from start to finish you quickly realize that you are in for a treat. Weddings are so glamorous and sentimental but there are times when happily ever after and until death do us part is not the expected end of the ceremony.
It all starts with The Wedding That Wasn't that kind of chronicles Felicity Patterson's life that had been less than gracious you might say -- or as Lori Wilde puts it -- hell in a wicker handbasket. Humor is Lori Wilde's best tool and in this novella it starts off A WEDDING ON BLUEBIRD WAY with a bang. Felicity is perhaps the most upbeat person you could ever meet. The Bluebird Inn business as a wedding venue was just starting to show great promise. The gardens at the inn were truly magnificent -- only thing missing were bluebirds but they have been gone for several years. Aunt Molly let the cat out of the bag when she cautioned Felicity about that an old midwife curse. It couldn't be that she had actually been jinxed her whole life. But it certainly would explain how things just seem to happen to her and those she loved. Well only if you believe in that stuff.
The wedding of Savannah Loving and Chance Worthington were going to be the first step stone to the success of Felicity's wedding business. But the Loving-Worthington wedding never happened. Savannah's uncle Tom -- kind of the lost black sheep of the family -- had jokingly offered his bike if she changed her mind. And well you guessed it. Now everyone is angry and Tom is receiving the brunt of that anger. But somehow this unexpected visit to Serendipity has Tom looking happier than ever. Could that be because of the lovely soft hearted gorgeous owner of the Bluebird Inn.
Tom and Felicity decide to join forces and see if they can entice bluebirds back to Serendipity. Felicity saw it as a way to hopefully end that stupid curse. Tom saw it as a way to delay his inevitable departure from Serendipity and Felicity.
Suffice it to say the three delightful novellas follow the antics of both Felicity and Tom and Savannah and Chance as well as other members of this engaging cast of characters. Love is definitely in the air. Hopefully the bluebirds will return to Serendipity and along with them a final end to that nasty curse.
