BY BREAK OF DAY is book 7 in the fabulous Night
Stalkers series by military romance genius M.L.
Buchman. Buchman has become my go-to author for military
romance, even beating Suzanne Brockmann in my opinion,
given his technically accurate details and realistic
settings. The Night Stalkers are a Special Operations
Aviation Regiment , the very best of the best in helicopter
aviation fliers, along with an embedded Delta colonel and
competence porn-level support staff. If you're looking for
exciting military action with off-the-charts action in the
bedroom as well, the Night Stalkers series has you
covered, hands
down!
Although a series, each book does stand alone and can be
read in any order. We get cameos of many of my favorites
characters from other Night Stalkers books, but the
focus is strongly on Kara and Justin here.
Kara Moretti is a Captain who flies the Army's
stealthiest remote piloted aircraft. An Italian-American
from Brooklyn, she is a petite dynamo who is close to her
family but doesn't let anyone else close to her heart.
Justin "Cowboy" Roberts is a Captain flying a Chinook
helicopter, trying to redeem himself from losing his first
helo crew to a suicide bomber. Both Kara and Justin are
very admirable characters who have good reasons to be wary
of letting other into their hearts. Seeing them overcome
these obstacles to reach romantic love is very
satisfying.
I love Kara and I adore Justin, both for their honor and
their sheer awesomeness. If stuck in a dangerous
situation, these are two people I would love to have at my
back (or actually in front of me!) and then go out to a bar
after to hang out, with them because they are so fun. Kara
and
Justin's chemistry is great, and I love the way they ping
off each other from minute one. The issues keeping them
apart seem a tad flimsy and are fairly easily resolved. I
do not feel they have to work very hard for their Happily
Ever After. All of the other couples in the Night Stalkers
brigade seem to be marking them as a forever sort of couple
pretty quickly, which feels a bit presumptuous to me. But
the rocketing military suspense keeps the book rolling
forward smoothly, and I love reading all the details about
the military hardware our good guys use in fighting
enemies. A solid addition to Buchman's Night
Stalkers canon, BY BREAK OF DAY is sure to please
readers who prize realistic situations and taut military
action in addition to romance.
M. L. Buchman raises the stakes-and the heat-in the

They Put Life, Limb, and Heart on the Line
Two new captains join The Night Stalkers with two
different strategies in life, love, and combat.
When
Brooklyn-raised Kara joins the crew, she knows one thing
as an absolute truth: to stay safe, keep everything and
everyone at a distance.
Born in Texas, Justin knows only
one honorable way to make up for losing his first crew to
a suicide bomber: he flies with all his heart. When Kara
and Justin collide on a top secret mission deep in the
Israeli desert, then the battle truly begins.
