A HIGHLAND WOLF CHRISTMAS is Book fifteen in Terry
Spear's Heart of the Wolf series. As always, Terry
Spear
balances great characters, eroticism, and high-energy
story-
telling to make a compelling read. A HIGHLAND WOLF
CHRISTMAS is another story by this author that I was
anxious to read, and sad to see end.
After reading previous books in this series, and the
description for A HIGHLAND WOLF CHRISTMAS, I thought that
the main issue in this story would be Guthrie's clashing
views with Calla when it comes to spending money. However,
I did not find this to be the case. They are both pretty
savvy when it comes to finance, and Guthrie admires her
business sense once he learns more about Calla. The real
issue in A HIGHLAND WOLF CHRISTMAS that threatens their
romance is the fact that they have both been burned before
when it comes to love. They fear their relationship will
become a rebound affair and they each have trouble
trusting
their feelings.
A HIGHLAND WOLF CHRISTMAS is both fun and exciting. The
camaraderie between the members of the MacNeill family,
and
Guthrie's bodyguard attempts make for some lighter
moments.
These lighter moments act as a nice counterpoint to the
drama and danger surrounding Calla being stalked by her
ex.
Terry Spear does a wonderful job drawing both of these
characters out and adding depth to them. Guthrie really
surprised me by not being the crotchety spendthrift I
thought he would be. Instead, he's sexy and has a big
heart. Calla is not a warrior or fighter but she stands up
to her ex when he tries to push her around. She shows a
strong character and courage. I love how Guthrie's family
welcomed Calla and made her feel like a part of their
family -- even before she officially got together with
Guthrie.
A HIGHLAND WOLF CHRISTMAS is a holiday treat -- a romance
that sizzles and entertains. The familiar characters from
previous books make a great addition to the story and
don't
take anything away from the romance between Guthrie and
Calla. I love this Heart of the Wolf series by
Terry
Spear and eagerly await the next installment.
Guthrie MacNeill, financial advisor for his clan and
werewolf pack, is at his wit's end when the pack leader's
mate hires a gorgeous party planner to bring holiday
cheer
to the castle. Guthrie's wildly attracted to Calla,
except
he can't reconcile the fact that his job is to save the
clan's money, and hers seems to be to spend it.
To warm this Highlander's heart
Calla Stewart has never had a more difficult client. The
laird and lady of the castle are delightful, but the
handsome Highlander holding the purse strings is quite
impossible. Since she specializes in holiday magic, Calla
hopes she can make the scrooge-like wolf lighten up. Then
Guthrie takes on the role of Highland warrior to protect
her
from an unexpected threat, and the holidays take a turn
for
the passionate.
