Shelby has had a rough time of things lately. Her mother has Alzheimer's; her last boyfriend only used her so he could post things on YouTube. Shelby can only be herself when she is working in her Art Barn.
Wyatt also has had a bad life. His parents didn't want him. Then they die in a car accident and he has to live with his grandparents. This however turned out to be a great thing in his life. Until he met Vanessa, she hung around with a rough group and soon so was Wyatt. His grandparents weren't happy about this at all and kick him out. Down and out Wyatt moves on until his grandpa dies and he goes back to help out his grandma. One day while he was working in the garage a young boy walks in and ask are you Wyatt? Then you must be my dad.
Wyatt and his son Casey move to a small town to try and start over. Wyatt meets Shelby as she is a teacher in his son's school. At first they don't hit it off at all. But the more Casey gets into trouble the closer they become. Shelby only wants to have sex, no strings attached as she feels she is not worth having anything else. BETWEEN THE SHEETS is the only way that these two can connect.
Molly O'Keefe's book is a very sensual love story. Ms. O'Keefe hits the highs and the lows of her characters. I was completely engrossed in not only the love story but what was going on in the main characters lives. Molly O'Keefs had the ability to make in cry in some parts and in some parts I really was starting to hate Shelby. On the other hand I was hoping from the beginning that Wyatt and Casey could work out all their problems.
In BETWEEN THE SHEETS Ms. O'Keefe touches on what Alzheimer's can do to a loved one. The one that has it and the loved one that has to deal with it. It is a very sad disease, hopefully one that I will never have to experience with anyone in my family.
