Women's Fiction

THE TEA SHOP ON LAVENDER LANE by Sheila Roberts is book five in her Life in Icicle Falls series. Bailey is a caterer in Los Angeles, catering to the stars. Until one party, where the host fakes food poisoning and ruins Baileys career and business. Her booked parties are canceling right and left and she has no choice but to close up shop and head back home to her family in Icicle Falls. Her sister, Cecily, books a flight for her and welcomes her into her home to stay as long as she needs to. Cecily is having her own problems. She is known as the family matchmaker, but her own love life is in a shambles. Luke has been perusing her since she moved back to Icicle Falls, but she just isn't attracted to him. She is really into Todd Black, the owner of the local watering hole called The Man Cave. Luke is perfect for Cecily, kind and attentive and Todd is the town bad boy, so wrong for her, but the one Cecily has sparks flying for. What is going to happen? Who will she end up with? She doesn't know, but you have to read THE TEA SHOP ON LAVENDER LANE to find out! You are going to love where this story takes you! Bailey has no idea what she wants to do with her life, but as far as she is concerned, she is done with cooking and baking for people. She doesn't want to make anyone else sick. She tries a few jobs in Icicle Falls but everyone knows she was born to feed people. She reluctantly goes into business with Todd Black and open up a tea shop in a house Todd just purchased! Now the story takes an interesting twist and what happens between Todd and Bailey is a mess. Throw in Todd's brother Devon and the town is turning upside down. I always fall in love with all of Sheila's characters and THE TEA SHOP ON LAVENDER LANE does not disappoint. Reading a Life in Icicle Falls book is like visiting with old friends. It's a small town and everyone is in everyone else's business just enough to drive them all crazy. I thought I knew where the story was going and who was going to end up with who, but once again, Sheila throws in a curve ball and I had it all wrong! I can't wait to continue with this series. As an added bonus, there are recipes at the end of the story and who doesn't love new recipes?

SUMMARY

When it comes to men, sisters don't share! After a fake food poisoning incident in L.A., Bailey Sterling's dreams of becoming a caterer to the stars collapse faster than a soufflé. Now Bailey's face is in all the gossip rags and her business is in ruins. But the Sterling women close ranks and bring her back to Icicle Falls, where she'll stay with her sister Cecily. All goes well between the sisters until Bailey comes up with a new business idea—a tea shop on a charming street called Lavender Lane. She's going into partnership with Todd Black, who—it turns out—is the man Cecily's started dating. It looks to Cecily as if there's more than tea brewing in that cute little shop. And she's not pleased. Wait! Isn't Cecily seeing Luke Goodman? He's a widower with an adorable little girl, and yes, Cecily does care about him. But Todd's the one who sends her zing-o-meter off the charts. So now what? Should you have to choose between your sister and the man you love (or think you love)?
