Fresh Fiction Review

Must Love Dukes

Romance Historical

Our hero and heroine meet under strange circumstances. Devon is stalked by a woman in blue all the way from Bond Street to a seedy tavern where under false names they chat over drinks. They leave after a bar brawl and end up having a romp in the back of a hack. All this and it is only the end of the first chapter. Lillian Phillips traveled to London to reacquire her father's pocket watch which was sold off after his death. When she discovers that someone else has bought it she does whatever she has to do to get it back, even if she loses something much more valuable in the process. All Devon Grey, Duke of Thornwood, the Mad Duke, wants is a drink after a long day. Instead he gets caught up with a strange yet beguiling female and loses his new timepiece. The Mad Duke is determined to live up to his reputation and do whatever he has to do to find that scheming woman and his watch. MUST LOVE DUKES by Elizabeth Michels is a regency romance. MUST LOVE DUKES is the first novel in Elizabeth Michels new series Tricks of the Ton. MUST LOVE DUKES is intriguing from the very first paragraph. Michels' writing is fresh, new, and unexpected. At times Elizabeth Michels' writing borders on farcical adding a touch of comedy to MUST LOVE DUKES. Lillian's drunken naivete while being ravished is quite delightful and Devon playing Mad fills me with devilish glee. I look forward to reading the rest of Elizabeth Michels' Tricks of the Ton series.
