βYeah,β he said, straightening his tie. βItβll look worse if we donβt.β He gave her a sheepish grin. βThanks for being a sport.β
At the door, Mark rang the bell, then smiled at her as they waited. βIβll have to admit, the garter belt was a nice surprise.β He rocked back on his heels, the picture of confidence again.
Ellie couldnβt resist knocking him off balance. βThen I canβt imagine what you would have thought of my tattoo.β "
