Gin Blanco is officially a "scary assassin" and one who
should be feared. She has managed to take out more than
her
fair share of notorious criminals, but inadvertently makes
herself a target for other jealous assassins. With these
threats hot on her trail, Gin takes off with her baby
sister to try to get away. But plans are never perfect,
right? Gin runs into her old flame, Donovan...
Gin is as great a character as ever. She protects the
innocent and pays attention to her baby sister. Her
intelligence and skill always show through the action
scenes. Donovan's character will probably strike readers
as loathsome. It's hard to forget his betrayal from the
last few books.
Gin will likely impress readers when
she shows she couldn't care less that Donovan shows up at
random. Gin has her own attentive lover, Owen, who she
doesn't have to worry about cheating or leaving her. The
love scenes are well-thought-out and believable. Overall,
the plot was great and Gin's character alone is worth
picking up BY A THREAD.
Gin Blanco never thought she'd need a vacation from being an
assassin. But a few weeks ago, she killed Mab Monroe, her
nemesis and the most powerful Fire elemental in Ashland.
Now, all the city's lowlifes are trying to make a name for
themselves by taking out the Spider. So she heads south to a
swanky beach town, along with her baby sister, Bria, for a
weekend of fun in the sun.
But when an old friend of Bria's is threatened by a powerful
vampire with deadly elemental magic, it looks like Gin will
have to dig the silverstone knives out of her suitcase after
all. But this time, her special powers might not be enough
to prevent her from coming home in a pine box
